Top of the line piston pumps are used on the propulsion, primary extractor, base cutter and chopper circuits to handle the heaviest of cane. Nitrogen accumulators protect the lift elevator and topper circuits. The filters are located inside the hydraulic tank providing 100% filtration and practically eliminating the risk of contamination. With the unmatched 5.2 metre topper reach, the 3520 is capable of handling the tallest of cane. The optional shredder topper facilitates residue management after harvesting. Large diameter crop divider scrolls with low approach angle gently lift and feed cane into the harvester throat. The exclusive parallel linkage system consistently maintains proper orientation to the ground, minimising hole stalk losses under the toe as the row height varies and reduces dirt content. Unique crop divider knockdown rollers are available to help guide long wrapping cane to prevent build up at the top of the scrolls. The adjustable large diameter knockdown rollers feed the cane into the base cutter and adapt to all crop conditions. Propelled by a powerful hydraulic piston motor, the basecutter's large discs are fitted with five blades each and the operator can easily adjust the height to cut the cane right down to ground level. Once cut, the rotating butt lifter propels the stalks of the sugar cane into the feed rollers. The feed roller path is straight and opens wide to reduce cane breakage and improve feeding to the chopper. Large deep paddle lower rollers improve the removal of dirt and mud. Access for maintenance is better than ever. With externally mounted bearings and bolt on cradle stops with rubber shock absorber pads powered by a stout radial piston motor, the large differential chopper processes the heaviest cane, sharply cutting the stalks into even billets, preparing them for the first cleaning chamber. Externally mounted bearings can be changed as needed and allow the chopper shafts to easily slide out from the side. An exclusive sill roller helps to feed the cane billets into the primary extractor, improving cleaning and avoiding back feeding. Unique primary and secondary hood designs increase the 3520's cleaning capability to match customer needs, consistently delivering the cleanest cane in the market. The largest primary extractor fan in the industry cleans at lower speeds, reducing horsepower consumption and noise levels. The secondary extractor completes the cleaning and with its 360 degree hood rotation, it directs the trash away from the wagon into the desired direction. The 3520 features a high capacity structural tube frame elevator for extended durability. Top and bottom idler sprockets reduce wear and prolong the chain life. Tall side walls and reversible slats will handle the heaviest cane, keeping billets from boiling down. High quality clean sugar cane is finally deposited into the wagon with the help of the hydraulically controlled flap. The 3520 combines robust and refined features to provide day and night comfort and convenience so the operators feel as good at the end of the shift as they did at the start. The cab is pressurised with both heat and air conditioning while acoustic insulation keeps it quiet. The expansive area of glass gives operators a clear view of the sugar cane topper, crop dividers and tractors and wagons and from the air suspended seat. All the major machine and harvesting controls are within easy reach. The controls float with the seat and are ergonomically designed to fit with the human hand. With the steering wheel on both the track and the wheel harvester and independent propulsion control lever, the operator can easily and safely keep the harvester centered on the row and make corrections quicker and more precisely.
