Ton von Lokko runs a forage harvesting contractor business in Belgium using John Deere equipment. He and his team use the MyOperations Centre to track data across their dairy cattle feed harvesting work, improving how they manage jobs and equipment performance.
I'm Ton von Lokko, CEO of TJ von Loko, which I run with my brother who is also CEO. Together with our 14 employees, we are specialists in agricultural contract work, especially for dairy cattle. We mainly harvest grass and maize, so we opted for John Deere. We selected three identical forage harvesters, two of them extreme kernel processors and one with a normal 40% difference. 56 cut ahead. We chose John Deere because the dealer Koferbel is very close here in Olund and because the machine is equipped with everything we need. The results so far with the machine are very good. So we have made progress with the rows of grass again. The drivers are also very appreciative of the machines. The weather is very humid now and it works very well. We are very happy. I also work as a driver, mostly for grass. The machine definitely adds value. I've had good machines before, but this one is of a higher quality. The NIR sensor is very important for us to register the data for the customer. This allows us to provide more data. We measure yield, dry matter and crude ash, which is very important for grass. We have received good feedback.
Hello, my name is Carleen. I'm Jo's wife. I work in administration here at Tgvanloko. One of my responsibilities is to monitor my John Deere. We also use the my operations centre very frequently. With it we create analysis of the fields harvested by our forage harvesters using the Myoperations centre. I send the fields to the forage harvester driver in the morning so he can see them with the push of a button and start harvesting. The analysis then proceeds automatically. When the harvest is complete, I get the information back in on my computers. I then prepare an analysis which I send to the customer.
