This is a YouTube video titled "Adjust Nozzle Coverage Setting | John Deere See & Spray™ Select" created in February 2022. The content is an instructional tutorial featuring two speakers explaining how to adjust the nozzle coverage settings on the John Deere See and Spray Select system, including safety precautions and operational recommendations for different environmental conditions.
Today we will be showing you how to adjust the nozzle coverage setting for See and Spray Select. For more See and Spray Optimization videos, visit the John Deere YouTube channel.
Before starting any procedures, it is important to recognize safety information, understand safety signals, wear recommended personal protective equipment, and be familiar with your operator's manual. After starting the machine and letting the display completely boot up, we will first navigate to our See and Spray applic. Click menu in the bottom right of the homepage. Then within the Machine Settings tab at the top left of the page, click on See and Spray. The nozzle coverage setting designates the minimum number of nozzles that will be activated when a target is detected. This setting can either be changed to single or overlapping. If this setting is set to single, then a minimum of one nozzle will be activated. If this setting is set to overlapping, then a minimum of three nozzles will be activated. When deciding on which to choose, it is important to keep factors in mind such as boom height, environmental conditions such as wind, spray speed, and spray sensitivity setting. It is recommended to avoid operating See and spray select when wind speeds are above 10 miles per hour. If one were operating near 47 inches above target and there are cross winds of 5 to 10 miles per hour, it would be recommended to set the nozzle coverage setting to overlapping to ensure proper target coverage. If boom height, wind speeds and spray speeds are at lower thresholds, it is recommended to set nozzle coverage to single. However, infield adjustments may be required to ensure proper target coverage if conditions change. Single nozzle coverage setting may provide the greatest amount of chemical savings while overlapping nozzle coverage setting may decrease the total chemical savings.
