C441R Wrapping Baler in Action | John Deere

John Deere's C441R wrapping baler coordinates its pickup, rotor, bale chamber, and wrapping device to produce bales efficiently. Timing and throughput are critical to how the machine works.
The display. The most important things need to be on the first page. If you want to change something quickly, you don't want to have to search in the menu first. That's actually pretty easily solved. Then the pickup. Something has to go through there. Throughput, stable. The belts and the bale chamber. In general, everything has to be coordinated with each other so that the interaction works. You can't have a good pickup or rotor if everything else behind it, it can't pick up what's coming. It all has to work together. And it's exactly the same for the wrapping device. It has to run fast, as you can't be waiting around for too long. Depending on when you need a lot of sheeting, or if you're wrapping round eight times, this can naturally take a bit longer. It depends on what you or the customer wants. But overall, the whole package has to fit. Pickup, rotor, bale chamber, wrapping device, bale erector, these cycles, these timings. It's all well coordinated. You can also do a little fine tuning yourself, and I think we have managed that well because we can sometimes press up to 60 bales per hour because there is so much material at the moment.
