I'm Cass and I've been working at AgroCorp Hamilton for three years. My role as a parts technician is very important to keep my customers moving, especially during the seasons where all they're doing is working and I need to make sure that I get the parts as quick as possible. Air filters. I've got a broad range of customers. I've got contractors, owner operators, dairy farmers, construction fleets, forestry companies and quite a few golf courses as well. To see my customers running their business well means that I've succeeded as a parts technician. So last week I had a phone call from a customer. They had broken a part on one of their tractors and it needed to come out of Melbourne, so I managed to find one off a trade tractor to keep them moving. So they picked it up that afternoon and I ordered the part. In the meantime, my customer was still doing their job that they needed to do. I was incredibly honoured to be named parts technician for New Zealand and I was very well supported by my colleagues. Trent's my parts manager. He taught me a lot of what I know now. He's definitely been one of my main mentors since I started at Agroquip. He's been here for about 10 years, so he knows a lot.
So my name's Trent Oyen, parts manager here at Agro Equip Hamilton. I nominated Cass for New Zealand John Deere Parts Technician of the Year because mainly her exceptional way to learn things quickly. Friendly. She just knows how to look after the customers. She'll get their parts right, that's the main thing. I think that's why they like to deal with her. I know she's very vital to us here. I don't think we'd get a lot of the stuff done that we do now without her.
How was your weekend, Colin? Was it? Did you have a good Sunday? I think it is very important for more women to step up and be in the agriculture industry and it is becoming more of a common thing and it is so good to see.
