Sam walks through John Deere's SmartGrade compact track loaders, which use controls that feel like a traditional crawler dozer. The machine handles grading automatically, so operators can focus on steering instead of managing blade depth.

The idea of being able to take this machine and perform like a smart grade dozer was really important to our customers. Our software engineers worked really hard to match that feel. For an operator who's been a seasoned crawler operator.

Our guys are jumping in there and feeling like they're right at home. When I'm in this machine, it feels like a dozer.
