This is a YouTube video titled "Elektryfikacja oznacza różnicę: eAutoPowr firmy JOHN DEERE" containing a multi-speaker discussion about John Deere's new electric infinitely variable transmission technology for high horsepower tractors. The participants include a narrator (Speaker A), Jeremy, and Elka, who discuss the features, reliability, and benefits of the new transmission system. The content focuses on the technical innovation and customer experience with the new tractor model.
The move to higher and higher horsepower creates a real challenge for manufacturers. How do they get the power to the ground smoothly, efficiently and reliably. At over 400 horsepower, conventional hydraulic systems are working at their technical limits. So John Deere engineers have come up with a radical new solution. The world's first, first ever electric infinitely variable transmission, the E Autopower.
Hi, Jeremy. Jump in now.
Let's take a look.
Hey, Elka.
Hi, Jeremy.
This is your first time today?
Yes, that's right. That's right. And the first thing I noticed was how much quieter it is than other tractors I've driven before.
Really?
Yes.
A lot of customers say this, so we've demonstrated to. They're really impressed with how much quieter it is. But by replacing the hydraulic components with electric, it produces the sound massively in the cab.
Using the Coman Pro feels similar to other 8R models without the power.
Absolutely. It's the same controller and it's working in exactly the same way. So it's the same as a Command Pro on any other John Deere tractor? Absolutely the same. But the big difference with this one now is between 0 and 5 km. The tractor is powered fully electrically forward and in reverse. Okay, so you've got the seamless shifting with the Command Pro that you'd get on a normal autopilot, and now you can change direction under load. It's awesome.
People are naturally nervous about the reliability of any new technology so particular with such a high horsepower and how does it work with such a high power?
So initially, we took a lot of experience and knowledge from our colleagues in the construction part of the business. They've been running electric motor technology similar to this for over seven years in large wheeled loaders.
After this, we actually applied 100,000 test hours through the auto pan transmission in a development phase before we got to where we are now with the transmission. So we're confident it's very durable, very reliable, and customers should be so too.
Yeah, but why it's only available for the highest model in the range, the 410.
You don't like the 410?
I like it. Really? But why it's only available for this one?
Well, it was specifically designed for this tractor for this horsepower category. So above the 400 horsepower. This is the first time for us that we're able to offer customers with a stepless transmission in the 410, because before it was E23 only.
There's another optional, really important feature to mention, electric off boarding.
