Employee Spotlight: Meet Shane

I'm Shane Pope. I work at SunSouth John Deere in Auburn, Alabama. My position here at SunSouth is sales. So what I get to do on a daily basis is I sell equipment anywhere from lawnmowers to big ag tractors to construction equipment. What I like about my job is selling equipment. First of all gets me a good relationship with the customer to build their trust and they know that I'm here to help them get the equipment that they need. So that's one of the things that I do that helps the customer out. I love working at SunSouth just for those customers and the benefits that come with working with SunSouth and selling equipment is fun and just seeing what people get done around their house with different John Deere equipment. Now as for me personally, outside of Sun South, I do ride Harleys. I love riding my Harley on the weekends. I play cornhole, I play golf, I do bowling. A lot of things with my kids activities as well too. So I have two 16 year olds that are very active in sports and school. They're also involved in the ffa Future Farmers of America. So I get to go to some of their events as well too and it ties in with a lot of things that I do here at sun south with agriculture equipment. One of my sons is doing poultry judging and different types of judging in agriculture, so I enjoy seeing them in that field as well.
