Features of a John Deere 35G Mini Excavator

This is a YouTube video titled "Features of a John Deere 35G Mini Excavator" created on July 9, 2020. It features Drew Shirley and Drew Ellis from Sunsouth in Tuscaloosa discussing and demonstrating the controls, safety features, and ergonomic design of the compact excavator model 35G, aimed at construction equipment users.
Hi, this is Drew Shirley at Sunsouth in Tuscaloosa and I'm going to spend a couple minutes here talking about our compact construction equipment, mainly our compact excavators. The one we have Here is the 35G and I also have one of the salesman, Drew Ellis, that is going to help you out here and kind of show you what we're talking about. The first thing I want to mention is the control swap here. When you can swap it from backhoe to excavator. If you have a guy that's out and he is normally the guy that's running it and use to backhoe you, you can swap to backhoe. If he's used to the excavator type controls, you can swap it to there. One other thing you can do, you can actually turn the actual hydraulic functions off and lock this door. So it keeps people from tampering with your machine in case they don't need to be on it. One of the other things I want to point out is a lot of times on a job site, in a cab machine, you'll have workers that are out there showing your dig depth and things like that. You need to hear what they're saying. You can easily open the front glass of this machine. Two levers give it a pull, rolls all the way back and the side glass opens as well. So now you can hear everything they're saying. So you're safer and they're safer. I'm going to get Drew to crank this up now and we're going to show you kind of what some of the ergonomic designs of the controls are. Kind of show you how this works. So the first thing I want to mention is you let that down there. That's the only safety precaution you have. Once you get in the machine, you let that arm down and it unlocks the machine. You know, the thumb, the breaker, the post hole auger is controlled right there on the top of the lever. So you can operate that thumb and you don't have to move your hand off of the actual boom handle. The other thing is this machine is equipped with the angle blade option. The angle blade option. Basically, when you're going up and down with the machine, you can use the thumb again, your thumb to push a button. It's going to control that again. The angle blade is going to increase your cover time 20% just by having the angle blade. One of the other cool things is while you have your hand on that blade and you're covering, you can't have your hand on the track controls and the blade control at the same time. They are also offered with operate the machine and control the blade. So now you're basically utilizing all your functions at one time, and everything is right there where you can get a hold to it. So again, safety, serviceability, and productivity. And that's what these machines are designed for and made for. Again, I'm Drew Shirley. This is Drew Ellis. When you think compact construction equipment, think Sunsouth. Come by and see us.
