This is a YouTube video titled "Forage Harvester 9000 Series - Maize Harvest in Italy" featuring Cesare Cecchiri, a partner at Techno Agricola, discussing his experience using John Deere forage harvesters, including the new 9600 model with advanced engine technology. The content focuses on agricultural machinery performance, fuel efficiency, and operational comfort during maize and Triticali harvesting on a large scale in Italy, recorded in July 2022.
I'm Cesare Cecchiri, a partner of Techno Agricola. That's my grandfather, my father and my uncle, plus us three brothers and two cousins. We just bought a John Deere 9900 forage harvester with the 12 row Kemper header. And we tried the new 9600 with the new John Deere engine. That left me breathless. The crops for which we use a forage harvester are mostly corn and Triticali. Between corn and Triticali, we chop about 8,000 hectares. 50% of the chopped material is produced for biogas and 50% is for the cows. I tried the new 9600 equipped with the new harvest motion plus system. In a few words, the engine runs at a low speed compared to other engines, offering the full power and the maximum torque even under load at a reduced throttle. The fuel consumption of this engine is really low. I saw that while I was working. And furthermore, there is no def or particulate filter. This new machine is very quiet, comfortable and ergonomic. For someone like me who works 15 hours a day on a forage harvester, it's important to get down from this machine completely relaxed. The visibility is Perfect. I have 812 row Kemper headers and platforms for direct cutting. I can see really well with this machine. It's equipped with a very ergonomic lever and the monitor is very user friendly and simple. This machine chops really well and it breaks the kernel perfectly. Since I have different types of kernel processors, I have always felt comfortable with any length of cut. I also have other forage harvesters and I noticed that even in winter, during maintenance tasks, the costs are very limited. Thanks to the Duraline package as well. In fact, I have a machine that chopped 3,000 hectares. And I haven't changed any liners yet, either for the chopping set or the spout. Except for the knives, I am very happy with these machines.
