Harvesting Innovation: X-Series

This is a YouTube video titled "Harvesting Innovation: X-Series" featuring Henrik Junkelmann, a farm manager at Gross Wmsdorf manor, discussing the agricultural conditions and the use of John Deere X9 combine harvesters on their 4800-hectare threshing area. The content focuses on farming technology and operational efficiency in a coastal farming region.
My name is Henrik Junkelmann. I've been farm manager at the Gross Wmsdorf manor management for 15 years. The arable location here in Grossvarmsdorf is shaped by sandy loams and loamy sands and we have an average of 50 ground marks. Our annual average precipitation is 550 millimeters. What benefits us is the proximity to the coast here. The Baltic Sea coast is on average 5km away from our folk. And the farm is located on the edge of the Klutze Winkel. And this area is known to many as a very good farming region. Our threshing area is around 4800 hectares. The location is, as I have already mentioned, on the coast. In the evening hours we have to deal with dew as it moves in here and makes threshing conditions more difficult. For these conditions we require a suitable high performance combine. Today we harvest in Grosswarmsdorf with 3x9 combine harvesters from John Deere. That's why we decided on The John Deere x9 combine harvester, because we had basically considered reorganizing our threshing concept. Today we have a threshing area of 4800 hectares and harvested it with five combine harvesters. Before these X9 combines, our goal was to consider whether it would also be possible with fewer. This means that on the one hand you need a powerful combine harvester with all the components that go with it. And in the end we came to the conclusion that an X X9 can achieve this. An X9 combine harvested an area of approximately 1500-1600 hectares. We already have one season behind us and can clearly say that the combine is capable of this performance. Today we can say that we can manage our harvested area well with three combines in this performance class. I also like to drive combine myself too when I act as a relief operator during lunchtime. And I'm delighted if I can run it for 30 minutes longer. This only happens rarely because the operators are back quickly, so I have little time to drive myself. But when driving myself is a lot of fun and I'm getting new ideas on improvements. You're just happy because it works, Sam.
