High Value Crop Showcase: Event Wrap Up

John Deere and Gus Automation showed off new tech for orchards and vineyards: a fiber tractor for tight spaces and an autonomous spraying system. The companies are partnering to expand into high value crop markets.
So today we are showcasing our brand new fiber tractor as well as our autonomous gust spraying solution to our customers and dealers. My name is Steph Jezykowski and I'm a production systems manager at John Deere. So I think the most exciting thing about the new 5mL tractor is that it is purpose fitted built for our tree orchard customers and vineyard customers. We've been able to integrate a lot of technology that traditionally hasn't been available in our smaller frame tractors. It's the kind of technology that has been available in broadacre applications. So the likes of integrated auto track and the dash display is one really special feature. So our HVC customers can really expect to see a true John Deere product in terms of quality and performance. In terms of our future development within the HVC portfolio and our commitment to our high value crop customers, I can share that we'll be continuing to bring new solutions to market at a much more rapid pace. The 5ml is just the first product that we're getting started with.
We've sprayed more acres autonomously than any other company in the world. My name is Gary Thompson. I'm the COO and the co founder of Gus Automation and we're based in Kingsburg, California. About 18 months ago we were approached by John Deere about forming a partnership. We were obviously very excited too to team up with a company with as rich of a history as John Deere. And so we embarked on that joint venture together and really excited to keep getting our machines out to more and more John Deere dealers throughout the world.
My name is Shawn Sundberg, I'm with John Deere company and I'm our business integration manager on site resource for the GUS Automation joint venture that we have in place. So our primary goal is to take the autonomy package that GUS has today and help mainstream the product and take it to new markets globally that have opportunity for high value crops that are also experiencing some labor conditions that would necessitate moving towards autonomy. So from John Deere's perspective with gus, I see endless opportunities and where we see high value crop potential globally, that's where Gus is going to be and it's going to be leading the way with autonomy in the high valley crop space.
