Learn how to add, edit, and view RTK Base Station information in John Deere Operations Center using a Gen 4 display. The tutorial walks through menu navigation, data assignment, and export methods for managing your base station setup.
In this video, we'll be showing you how to assign and edit RTK Base Station information to a field on a Gen 4 display and how to view RTK Base Station information as well as changed base stations for a specific field in Operations Center. In order to edit RTK information, you must have the A Generation 4 display, wireless data Transfer or a USB drive, the current supported RTK Ready Starfire receiver, RTK Ready Activation 4 receiver, and an RTK radio antenna. To assign an RTK Base station to a field and a Gen 4 display, navigate to the menu button in the lower right hand corner of the display. Under the Applications tab, select the Field and Boundaries button and a window will pop up with field details. Select the Base Station button in the lower right hand corner of the window to view and assign an RTK base station. Select the on button to turn on Automatic Base Station switching from Field to Field Once this toggle is turned on, it will automatically switch base stations when traveling from field to field if base stations are different in those fields. If you are needing to add a different base station to the field or change RTK Base Station information, navigate to the Status center at the top of your display, select the Starfire item line and select the Configure button. Here you will be able to change the Network id. Once you have done so, click OK and then click the arrow in the lower right hand corner of your screen. If the operator chooses to change the RTK Base station on a field that already has an RTK Base station assigned to it and the automatic Base Station switching is turned on, a pop up will appear asking the operator what they would like to do next with the changed RTK base station. In this case we will choose the Update New Base Station option and then click OK in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. When you have successfully changed your current Field Base station, you can review that change by navigating back to the Fields and Boundaries application. Select the menu and then select Applications. Choose Fields and Boundaries, then Base Station in the lower right there you can see Base Station information including the network id. Next we will export the RTK Base Station information from the display. There are two ways you can export data to Operations center from your display. Your two options are WDT or Wireless Data Transfer or the use of a USB drive. You will now navigate back to Operations Center. If you have WDT enabled, your files will automatically be sent to Operations center and you will be able to view them here in your Files page. If you are using a USB to transfer your files, utilize the Upload Files feature in the right hand corner of the Files page. To view your RTK Base Station information, navigate to LAN Manager There are two places in land that you can review the RTK Base station, the Map view and the Table view. In the Map view, you can review and assign a different base station to the field if multiple base stations have been imported from a Gen 4 display, you can also review the Base Station information for a field by navigating to the Table view. If you do not see the Base Station column in your table, you will need to select the Manage Columns button and add the Base Station column to your table. Select the field you would like to view, your RTK Base Station information and or change Field Base Stations after you select a field under the Field Details tab, you will see a selection called Base Station. Under that section you will be able to switch base stations for this field and view the current field Base Station information. To ensure that your data has been saved, click the Save button at the bottom left hand corner of your screen. Now that we have validated the RTK Base Station information, we can send the fields and field details, which includes the Base Station information, to the display by using WorkPlanner or setup file Creator. In addition, with Wireless Data Transfer or a USB drive to transfer the files now that we have transferred the data back to the display. In order to import your fields and RTK Base Station information, you will select the Menu button in the lower right hand corner of your display and enter the Systems tab. Click File Manager and inside of the Import tab, select Next. Here you will be prompted to select which folders you would like to include and then select Next in the lower right hand corner of the screen. Once it is loaded, select Import in the lower right hand corner of your screen and click ok. You can now exit these tabs and navigate back to the Home screen of your display. Select the location shortcut on the homepage, select the field that you'll be operating in, and click ok. You have now successfully imported your field information, which includes the RTK Base Station information, onto your display. You can verify the RTK Base Station information for the field you are currently in by navigating to the Fields and Boundaries application and selecting the Base Station button in the right hand corner of the screen.
