How to restring a STIHL trimmer

Hey, my name is Eric Owens, I work with SunSouth in Dothan. I'm going to show you all today how to restring the steel trimmer with a new autocut twist feed head. We're going to go step by step with it by taking the ring off the top, the lock ring and then we're going to go through it and show you how to twist it on and how it feeds itself in and how it feeds itself out. Step one, we're going to take the lock ring off and set it down. And then step two, we're going to take the head and feed the line all the way through it. And you want to get it equal on each side. That way your trimmer line's coming out equally on each side as you're cutting. And then once you do that, you'll take the bottom of the head. Step three is going to be where you're going to twist it and wind it up. And I'm going to show you step by step how to do that. Alright, like I said in the video before, step one, we're going to push in these little gray tabs. There's one on each side and they're right across from one another. And so you're just going to take your thumbs and just push that ring and it's going to come off and you can just set it down just like that. That's step one. Step two, we're going to push this through the middle hole and it's going to come all the way through to like that, right? And then you want to pull it out. Like I said earlier in the video, you want to get half, you want to pull it out half and get your string pretty much halfway. Next step, now that we've got it halfway, you're going to put your outer ring back on like that right there. Then you just take it in. Your final string step is you just take it and you just twist it. All right? And now that we've got it wound, and this is also a bump style head just like your other 252 heads. This is a 26 2.
