How To Set Up PIN Code | John Deere Generation 4 Display

Step-by-step guide to setting up security PIN codes on a John Deere Generation 4 display. Learn how to create administrator and operator PINs, disable the feature, and recover access if you forget your PIN.
Hello. Today I will show you how to set up your Security PIN code password for your John Deere Generation 4 display. A security PIN code would be beneficial to you if you would like to lock your Generation 4 display to make the display inoperable to a user who does not know the Security PIN passcode, the owner of the display and an operator will both have a PIN code.
A quick note before we get started.
Your John Deere Generation 4 display must be registered in your customer account on myjohndeer.com in stellar support in order to obtain a master unlock code which I will talk about later in this video.
Starting from the Run page, we will click on the Menu button, the System tab and then the User and Access button. Here we can see that there is a new tab for Security PIN code. In order to turn this on, we will click on the on button.
We will be notified that a PIN does not currently exist and we will have to create one. So we will select ok.
Now you will enter a four digit Security PIN password for the use of the administrator or the owner of the display. Then you will be asked to re enter your password. Now, in order to set up a passcode for an operator, we will click on the Edit Operator PIN at the bottom of the screen.
In order to create an operator's pin, we must first enter the administrator passcode. Once that is done, we can now create any four digit passcode we want for our operator pin.
Now your administrator and operator both have a Security PIN passcode. We can also disable this Security PIN passcode feature by returning to where we originally set it up. We can do this by selecting off and then entering your four digit Security PIN passcode. If we accidentally forget or enter the wrong Security PIN passcode, you can see that we have four attempts remaining. If we enter five passcodes and they are all incorrect, we will have to go to our Stellar support page in myjohndeer.com and to retrieve the master unlock code in order to get back into your John Deere Gen 4 display.
Once we enter the correct Security PIN passcode and select ok, this feature will be disabled. Thank you for watching this video on Gen 4 security PIN passcodes.
