How to Start Stihl Chainsaw without Flooding

Greg demonstrates how to start a Stihl MS.250 chainsaw without flooding the engine. The video covers fuel mixture, oil levels, and the correct cranking procedure to get it running reliably.
Hey, guys, my name is Greg and I'm at the sun south here in Columbus, Georgia. We're going to be going over a little bit about the proper way to crank a chainsaw.
Right here we have the MS.250 and it is a two cycle unit. So it is going to take mixed gas. It is 50 to one. So whatever size, we got a two.
And a half gallon tank here.
So we're a two and a half bottle to two and a half gallons of gas.
So we're going to show you here. We have our oil reservoir in the front and our gas tank in the back. We're going to start with our oil. We're going to fill this up to the line here.
And you'll want to pay attention. When you're running your chainsaw, the gas.
And oil level will run out at about the same time. So if you're topping off your gas, you need to top off the oil. Next we're going to fill up the gas.
It is in the back here. And these do have the easy lock caps on them.
So you want to insert it here.
Twist and push down. And now we are ready to start the process of cranking it.
So what we're going to do here is I'm going to show you the proper way to crank the chainsaw without flooding it. So first we're going to make sure our chain brake is off. We're going to put it on full choke. And what you're going to want to do is you're going to pull a few times.
When you hear the engine sputter, you're going to want to take it off of choke. After that, give it a few more.
Pulls and it will crank right up.
And we're going to demonstrate that for you.
Now.
See, there's the sputter.
You're going to want to take it off a choke. A few more pulls and she'll be ready to go. And that is going to be the proper way to crank the chainsaw without flooding. If you don't follow those steps, it will flood very easy. And then you'll have to let it.
Sit up and wait before you have.
To crank it again. So to prevent that from happening, that will be the proper way to crank this chainsaw. And that's with all steel chainsaws.
If you got any more questions, my.
