John Deere's X9 combine harvester uses Combine Advisor and Harvest Smart to automatically adjust settings and speed during harvest, maximizing performance and grain quality without the operator having to touch anything.
Automatic harvest optimization tools guarantee maximum performance and grain quality no matter who is sitting in the operator's seat. It starts with the optimized performance feature. An interactive menu gives recommendations for settings based on the harvest priorities. These include losses, broken kernels, and grain sample cleanliness, as well as draw quality. Once the settings have been chosen, Combine Advisor takes over. Using cameras in the grain elevator and active tailing system, it automatically makes adjustments to maintain the desired quality of work. No operator input is required. Combine Advisor is linked directly to the automatic speed management system Harvest Smart. Taking multiple calibration points at different speeds and throughput levels, Harvest Smart lowers the combine speed if the settings cannot achieve the desired output. If conditions improve, the combine speed is increased. In this way, it always keeps the X9 running at its maximum capacity.
