INSIDE X9 - Header set-up | John Deere

John Deere walks through setting up the X9 combine header, covering factory calibration, hydraulic and electrical connections, and how operators adjust it for different ground conditions.
Every header is precision calibrated at the factory and the settings are permanently stored on board so there's no complex and time consuming setup. The number of hours spent harvesting are also recorded with automatic notification of any upcoming maintenance. All the hydraulics and electrical links are made through a single multi coupler. A menu on the Generation 4 display lets operators adjust the position of the gauge wheels and the suspension to suit the ground conditions. Everything else is controlled via the hydro handle, reel and belt speeds and fore aft tilt and changing from off ground to an on ground cutting in seconds by pressing just one button. An adjustable attachment frame isolates the header movements from those of the combine for smoother terrain following when it comes to moving to another field, simply press and hold a single button and the reel is automatically retracted and the gauge wheels lift as each side wing moves to the center position.
