John Deere 35G Maintenance Points

Kristen from Sun South Mobile walks through the maintenance checklist for a John Deere 35G excavator. The video covers fluid levels, filter changes, grease points, and control lever functions to keep the machine running properly.
Hi, I'm Kristen at your mobile sunsouth location. Today we're going to talk about periodic maintenance, specifically on the 35G excavator. So starting here, we're going to pop this open. Before you ever start your machine, you definitely want to do a daily check. Just make sure all your fluids are good. Make sure your engine is going to run properly when you're in the field. So starting here, you of course have your fuel reservoir. Back here, you have your engine, I mean, your hydraulic oil reservoir. You don't check it up here. You actually check it on the side of the engine. So you don't ever have to open it. If you just want to check the hydraulics. You got your pretty simple lever here, just high and low, coming around to the side of the machine. You're going to open this door here, and inside this compartment you have a couple things going on. So you have your battery here with your fuse boxes. You also have your radiator here, your coolant level, and your fuel water separator. Really all you need to remember about this piece, that you never want the white piece to be above the red line. If that's the case, go ahead and turn this little white knob at the bottom. Drain the water and you'll be good to go. You're going to open this little lever here and back here. You have also a couple things going on. So you got your air filter here. You can undo the latches and check it. I would highly recommend before you go out into the field, if you got a little bit of dust on there, just squeeze this little piece at the bottom, get all the dust out. You'll be good to go. You have your engine oil reservoir, and then you'll check it with your dipstick. Over here, you're just going to pull that out and make sure you're good. Make sure you're full to that line. And if you are, go ahead and stick it back in. You'll be good to go. You have two fuel filters. You have one here, you have one down in here. You just want to check those periodically and make sure they're typically for your filters. You want to Change those every 500 hours or so in case you ever lose your owner's manual or you just don't have it in the field with you or whatever the case may be. You do have this really convenient periodic maintenance schedule on the back of your machine. All your recommended schedules are here, as well as your recommended grease points. You do have a lot on this machine machine. Typically everywhere you see a joint or a pin, you do want to grease it, and you want to make sure you grease those, I would say every 500 hours or so, maybe more, depending on how often you run the machine. Just to make sure, you know, you stay up to date on that, make sure your machine is good, and things like that. Coming around to this other side of the machine. The only thing that you really need to remember here, as far as periodic maintenance, is to open this contraption and make sure that this lever is good to go. This lever is used to change the excavator over from excavator controls to backhoe controls. So once you change it, your controls will pretty much completely change in here just to make it more convenient to the operator. That's all for your periodic maintenance on the 35G excavator.
