John Deere 6135E & 6145M Comparison

Brian Harrell from SunSouth walks through two John Deere 6 Series tractors, the 6135E and 6145M, comparing their horsepower, cab design, controls, and which customers each model suits best.
My name is Brian Harrell, I'm with SunSouth at the Donaldsonville, Georgia location. We're going to talk a little bit today about our 6 Series. We got a couple of those here. The 6135E is here on my left and the 6145M is here on my right. This is a 145 horsepower tractor. This is a 135, the 6E. The 135 horsepower tractor. That's the biggest that comes in the 6E. And then we have the M series, which different model. And we'll look at both of these, look at the inside and do a little walk around and show you the differences. Here we got the 6135E. Again, this is 135 engine horsepower tractor in the E series. We'll do a little walk around talking about a couple of different things. One of the biggest differences in the E and the M will be in the cab. The way the cabs are set up inside the controls, your display, corner post display on the M versus what we have as a display on the inside of this E. So we'll check those out. On the E series versus the M series is here in the cab. On this E series we have all of our display functions and screen is actually right here in front of us. The gear shifts are set up a little different on the E versus the M. We have our 1, 2 and 3 here, our A, B, C and D here to put in whatever mode, transmission gear you need. We have our controls up here and our joystick here. So that is some of the one of the biggest differences in the E and the M series cab. Okay, now we're in the 6145M. As you can see, number one, it's a larger cabin, more room in the cab. Some of your biggest differences that we talked about is going to be up here in the cab on the M. We got a corner display right here that we toggle through on different functions on the display. Our gear shift is up here. We have A, B, C, D, E, F. And then we go to our buttons here to go 1, 2, 3 on up again. We have a left hand reverser here as we do on the E. This is our joystick for our loader. When we mount a loader on here, our air conditioner, our lights, different buttons over here for different things. Our buttons here control the display up here. That's the biggest differences that you'll see on the E and the M series. So those are the differences in our E series and our M series. A lot of time when a customer comes in and when they're looking for that 125 to 150 horsepower tractor in the 6 Series, one of the biggest things they want to see is the cab and the comforts and the different controls. So it really depends on what you're doing with the tractor. A lot of your farmers will buy the M series that they're in every day, day in and day out, and then the guys on the weekends or maybe a hay customer may pick the E series. Little bit cheaper tractor than what the M is, just depends on what the customer is looking for. So if you're interested in a six series or anything in the John Deere line, come see us.
