This is a YouTube video titled "John Deere Africa | African Farming | Ep 3 | Overcoming Financial Obstacles with Smart Solutions" featuring a monologue from a speaker discussing the farming practices of a typical MIS crop farmer named Koki. The speaker explains how Koki diversifies between crops and livestock to manage risks and describes how John Deere Financial supports farmers like Koki by providing tailored financial solutions to acquire farming equipment. The content is educational and promotional, aimed at African farmers, and was created in October 2020.
Koki is your typical MIS crop farmer. And for us, when we see MIS crop farmers, I think we see a lot of learning from those people because this is somebody that, as farmers put it, has thought of Social Security. So when the seasons are not good for crops, Cookie's got his livestock to rely on. When it's not good for livestock, Cookie's got his crops to rely on. And so I believe Kuki doing all of these two farming practices and doing it very successfully, it's something that a lot of farmers, even including those of ours here, can learn from and make sure that you don't get to drift your attention to one crop practice or the other, but then do both of them and do it very successfully. And so that takes me to what we can offer Koki to take him to the next level. One arm of our company called John Deere Financial. This is an entity within our company that is there to help farmers bridge that gap between wanting to acquire a new John Deere equipment and then not getting it right. So we in there to help farmers, including emerging farmers or your new era farmers, to acquire our equipment. What we do is we will send a John Deere rep to your farm. So in this case, Koki spend the day with Koki, see Koki's operation, and then come back and then prepare a financial solution that will meet Koki's requirement to acquire our equipment. What is beautiful is that we tie the repayment of the facility to your cropping seasons. So that's something that Koki can have peace of mind. And once Koki keeps us informed of how his operations are going, there will be no pressure on him. It becomes like collaboration will become part of partners. And then we can also, you know, make sure that we work with him to make sure that the repayment becomes as smooth and easy as possible for him.
