The John Deere E series excavator has an undercarriage that is built for the long haul. In this episode, construction equipment training expert and 28 year veteran of the construction industry, Paul Setuza will take us through the most important features and benefits of the John Deere E series excavators undercarriage. My name is Paul Setuza. Behind me I've got the 380 series excavator. John Deere make of course. And we'll be talking about the undercarriage. The undercarriage is the one that, you know, takes care of most of the cost to owning and operating an excavator. So it's very important that operators look after the undercarriage. One important thing is to keep the undercarriage clean and secondly, make sure that the undercarriage is always operated in the correct direction as specified. You know, in the direction where the idlers should be in front whenever operating the machine. First thing I need to mention is that the frame for the undercarriage, it's so designed to keep dirt out which then increases the service life of the rollers. This E series 380 excavator has got two carrier rollers on top and the bottom rollers, there's nine of them. Don't worry about the number of rollers, that there may be a lot of them in place to increase wear and tear and all that. They actually do the opposite. They align the track chain so that there is no track snaking which then helps the undercarriage to live longer. One more point to note here in maintaining the undercarriage correctly is to make sure that the track tension is always maintained correctly. That will definitely extend the service life of the undercarriage. Undercarriage is not a an adjustment that should be done in their workshop only. It's an adjustment that should be done on the job site. Once it starts to rain and the place is muddy, mud picks up on the track chains. It tightens up the undercarriage or the track tension. So all we need to do is readjust the track tension and keep it correctly. And that will definitely extend the service life of the undercarriage. In conclusion, the E series excavator undercarriage is ours. And it's also built so that the owner can enjoy more hours without spending time in repairing the machine. The John Deere E series excavator is a force to be reckoned with. This powerful machine is well suited to tackle any and every task it might encounter on site. Whether.
