De dagspatia was a biggie tijd bij John Deere, said the Moinworks. Nou, het was wat Boerthal Wally, Milly Worfstad van said Africa is. So ek sier, hier is het typen van die Milly Worfstad van die middenwester. En het word ek interessant genoeg beskoule zelfers, the insurance capital of the world. Sarah, please tell us about your self, you know, how long you've been at John Deere, what are you doing at the moment?
Yeah, so my name is Sarah Hausman, en ek in de product marketing group for sprayers and application equipment, en ek ook help our product marketing manager with our sea inspirator technology.
America is massive, I'm in Canada, right next door, so how do you compare notes across the globe, en again just identifying best practice, so to speak, and again is there any territory, I'm not, you know, obviously I think South Africa is the best, right, but...
Really, you do?
Really, you didn't get the memo?
I didn't get the memo. I was on the board, like pints on that one, I'm like, I'm pretty sure, no.
Is there any country that stands up, that's different the way they approach?
You know, as I continue to learn more about agriculture and our products in the markets, one of the biggest things that I've learned is there's so many different geographic regions that are so vastly different, en my only experience with that so far has been with, you know, going out to the West. So growing up here in Iowa, in Central Iowa, it was corn and soy, that was everything I knew. Going out there, yep, that was agriculture to me. Going out to the western region, en now all of a sudden it's fruits and nuts and rice, dairy. En I'm like, wait a minute, en even when they were growing corn out there, you know, they weren't combining it, they were using a self -refoach harvester, and they were using that type of machine because they needed to chop the corn, as opposed to harvest the kernels. So, they were using it for a completely different purpose.
Well, it's fun, now let's go and eat the function, let's get down to business. Yeah, you're right.
Yeah.
How come, Sarah? So, yeah, just talking about the technology on the sprayers. Let's talk about the boom and the technology on the nozzle, you know, exact apply, and what benefit that brings to your customers.
Our customers wanted to do more with less, so they wanted to be able to spray more over an increased amount of acres and less time. So, that's where exact apply really comes in and helps because they're able to spray, but spray with a consistent pressure that allows them to really monitor how big that droplet can get and how much it covers.
And, you know, talking about the technology and so with exact apply, what else features does that bring, you know, like turn compensation.
So, with turn compensation, as you're approaching that turn, exact apply will actually change the rate across the entire boom. So, as you speed up or slow down, you're not going to spray more, either pesticide or herbicide, you're actually going to reduce that input cost. And the potential for damaging your crops. So, as you're going around that corner, exact apply is adjusting that speed and adjusting that rate of the spray rate. So, that way it can, it's a consistent spray across the boom. One of the other differences between our nozzle cavity or our nozzle body and our competition is that we actually have a better, 25 % more spray pressure that goes through each one of the nozzles. So, that in itself adds additional value to our customers' operations. So, I think in summary, you know, exact apply is just a really great product that allows you to really pinpoint your accuracy on what you're applying and how you're applying and the speed you're applying.
So, welcome, Josh. So, just continuing the conversation from where we left off with Sarah, she spoke a lot about exact apply and I know another key feature with that is boom track pro. Can you go into more detail on boom track pro and the benefits that will add to your boom and your operation application?
Yeah, it's a good question. Boom track is really all about the consistency in movement and variability as the boom is making its passes through the field. You know, if you think about it from an application standpoint, we want a consistent stable boom as we're making our passes through a field regardless of the crop type so we can get a more uniform application, right? When a boom, you know, bounces or has more inconsistency to it, when you're spraying, you have that spray coming out at different heights so your canopy for coverage is going to be more inconsistent. The more that the boom is going to fluctuate. Where boom track is nice is using sensors, it keeps that boom height very consistent. There is still, you know, there is still some movement but compared to a system without, you're going to see just a much more continuous stable position. Product recirculation and reclaim is kind of a no brainer just in the positives that it brings to the operation. So if you think about it, recirculation for example, depending on the chemical that you're going to be running and that you're going to, like through your lines and through your probably ultimately to your spraying nozzles, you want consistent movement, right? If you lose that consistent movement through the lines, you may start to have the product mixture start to set, really start to gunk up your lines. And so from a recirculation standpoint, it's a pretty straight forward system that just keeps movement the entire way through the plumbing all the way down to the nozzle. And reclaim really does a nice job of basically vacuuming all of the leftovers that are in the lines and in the plumbing and helps bring those back into the central tank. So you can feel confident knowing that there's not going to be nearly as much residue or residual chemical that's left in those lines. So Seanspray Select, which we've had in the market for some time now, is our green on brown solution. So primarily for fallow application, the vision system will go through and identify anything that is not brown and essentially spray. So Seanspray Ultimate, we introduced here in the U .S. this last year, last year being 2022 at commodity classic. And Seanspray Ultimate is really our next step in plant by plant management within a farm. Seanspray Ultimate to me marriage of fascinating technology to deliver the solution. So what I mean by that is it's the vision system that's different from what we have on select, but it's 36 cameras and 10 processors. That are mounted along the boom that are scanning like 1200 square feet and even that feels low in the matter of milliseconds. So we have performance upgrades, performance upgrade kits. And there are a number of them available for products that I have no experience with, but specifically the application. There are performance upgrade kits. If you are currently running an older sprayer, for example, that doesn't have exact apply. There's a performance upgrade kit where you can order the parts. Somebody will come out and either through the dealer or through an install team. They can put that technology on to your sprayer. I would allow you to put exact apply on your 4030.
Let's go.
Thanks.
