This is a YouTube video titled "John Deere - Behind New Zealand Dairy Full Video" created in February 2020. It features multiple speakers including dairy farmers, John Deere employees, and industry representatives discussing the challenges, dedication, and community impact of the New Zealand dairy industry, highlighting the hard work, innovation, and pride involved in dairy farming and related industries.
I think what makes dairy hard is probably the early mornings and late finishes covered in cow poo and usually wet.
They've got to maintain all their machinery, the business, look after their animals. There's no real getting away from it.
Christmas Day you've got to cut lunch short because you've got to go milk the cows.
They're a very resilient bunch. They enjoy doing it. You know, they manage to incorporate their whole lifestyle into farming. Keep going.
Dairy farmers are dedicated to animal health and welfare to produce milk to the highest quality. No secret out there. Dairy farming has been a massive backbone to the country for a long time and I'm sure it's going to be for many more years to come.
It employs a great number of people directly and indirectly like myself.
Lots of pioneers come out of the New Zealand dairy industry. It's a world leader. We create sought after products that the world wants.
We can achieve phenomenal milk rates from our pasture based systems.
I think they're all really hard workers, but all really genuinely good people.
They're progressive, they're not afraid to try new things and ensure that everyone, both humans and animals on their farms have happy lives. That's what's keep growing. We keep producing milk basically for the generations to come. Towns and communities are grown around people that work in dairy and those industries put back into communities.
I was raised on dairy farm. I've lived with it my entire life working with John Deere. I can give something back. We can help farmers with our product.
We all contribute, we all benefit from this industry. It's a vital cog.
As somebody who works with John Deere in the industry, that's something I'm really proud of.
