John Deere Comparison: 1025 VS 3025

Rick Redmond from SunSouth John Deere in Montgomery, Alabama compares the 1025 and 3025 tractors, two small frame models for landowners deciding between them. The video covers features, specs, and practical tips for each machine.
Hello, everybody, I'm Rick Redmond, I'm with SunSouth, John Deere dealership in Montgomery, Alabama. I want to talk to you a little bit about two of my best sellers, period have been. For years and years and years I've been doing this. And they're small frame tractors. Then one of them is a 3025, which is a three series tractor out of nine. So it's on the small side and 25 horsepower. Okay. This tractor is a one series. It's a 1025, basically a one series. This is our smallest tractor that we make, period, that Deere makes. The same engine, 25 horsepower, Yanmar diesel in both of them, same engine powers both of them. Both of them have hydrostatic transmission, meaning you just got a forward pedal, reverse pedal, twin pedals, very easy. It's not a rocker pedal. There's no clutch, there's no gears, anything like that. You just go forward, you match forward pedal, reverse, reverse pedal. And both come from the factory with loaders. This loader lifts about 1176 pounds. This loader about 900 pounds. So that's a little bit less capacity. Just cause of the frame on this is smaller than this. Frame tires are smaller. They both have industrial tires. This is just a bigger tire than this. Okay. This tractor has got a few. Since it's an R, this is an E. E is more basic. The R has a few more options than the has. Like this tractor has a mid mount power takeoff. Meaning you can put a drive over belly mower on this unit and cut your grass. Or if you got four acres outside in front of your house and you want it finer cut than some sort of rotary cutter do, you could cut it with a drive over belly mower, either in a 54 inch or 60 inch. You just drive over, it connects, you lock it in place with a little lever and you turn your pto mid PTO on cutting grass. This one you can't. You can pull a grooming mower and do the same thing, but it's not a drive over belly mower. That's one of the differences. This one has a stationary steering wheel, pretty much standard seat. This one has a tilt steering wheel and a little bit nicer seat. Okay. The front bucket control lever is right here on the 3025. Over here it's more on the front of the loader. Either one very either one. Just comfort to you. You got two lights right here, which this model doesn't have. So you could go out and cut some at night. You got front, both of them have front lights. What's not a problem, you still have that, but you got some additional lights on. This 1025R, both have rollover protection. Like I say, both of them have the same engine in it. Both of them have three three point hitches back here that lift. This one lifts about £3,500. This one lifts about £2,500. And this one will carry four foot implements versus five foot implements here. So you can carry a little bit wider implement here than here. They both have two year bumper to bumper warranties and six year powertrain warranties. And they're both both great sellers for a small land owner. This is something you need to compare. Has a little bit less price and that one just cause it's smaller. If you need to come see me, I hope you do. On the northern Boulevard in Montgomery. Look it up on the Internet, call me and come on out for a test drive.
