John Deere presents innovations in cotton harvesting technology at the 2024 Cotton Conference, featuring speakers discussing new machinery and sustainable farming practices used by Australian cotton growers focused on productivity.
We're at the 2024 Cotton Conference today, celebrating our 75th year of harvesting innovation. I've got the brand new model year 25 CP770 cotton picker behind me. We have new row units on this picker, the MP16 row unit, which is offering, you know, the next level of picking productivity. Also great to have a number of customers coming on the stand telling us what they're looking forward to, what they're looking forward to in the future, particularly with technology. We've got our exact sh grow unit on the stand here, which is really helping to deliver fertiliser to the plant on the seed in a dosing system so that we're getting a reduction of fertiliser that means a reduction in cost for growers as well as sustainability outcomes longer term.
For one thing, with the global responsibility we try to come to, myself and several of us in the cotton harvesting team, we try to come to a lot of these events globally, but I would say this one is always the most impressive event, hate to say it, globally, even more so than any other market that we go into because it's really so much on the cutting edge when we come to this event. And also what I love about this event is no matter who I talk to at this event, I know that they have a touch point in the industry. So we get a lot of touch points with the producers. Other people in the industry love this event as far as getting to know the customers better here in Australia and also the fact, understanding what's coming and what their expectations are.
Australian cotton growers are some of the most advanced in the world. We know they're looking for new technologies to make sure they're more productive. And we've got a lot of new technologies along the whole cotton production system, whether it be seeding, spraying, picking. And so, you know, they're focused on helping make farmers more profitable, but also more sustainable with some of these new technologies. So I think that's really exciting for the industry.
