John Deere - CP770 & CS770 Cotton Harvesters - Row Compensation and Yield Calibration

This is a YouTube video titled "John Deere - CP770 & CS770 Cotton Harvesters - Row Compensation and Yield Calibration" created on February 25, 2022. The video provides a detailed instructional guide on how to calibrate the yield monitor and perform row compensation calibration on John Deere cotton harvesters, aimed at helping operators ensure accurate yield measurements during harvesting. The content is a single-speaker tutorial without conversational elements.
In this video I'm going to show you how to effectively calibrate the yield monitor on your cotton picker or stripper as well as perform the yield monitor row compensation calibration. These calibrations should be performed at the start of every season and if you're going to begin harvesting a different variety, it is also good practice to perform these calibrations as you move to a new farm. If you notice a difference between module weight and what the sensor is seeing, this is another indication that a yield calibration should be performed. To start the road compensation calibration from the home screen, press menu and then Calibrations and Procedures. This displays a list of calibrations relevant to the machine. Scrolling to the bottom you can see Yield Monitor Row Compensation Calibration. This calibration should be performed prior to doing a yield calibration and when a mass flow sensor has been replaced or adjusted. The time required to perform this calibration is approximately five minutes. When you are ready to commence, press Calibrate to bring up an overview of the calibration and then press Start. Once you are in uniform crop and traveling at a consistent speed, press next to begin the calibration. After the five minute period you can press next again to conclude the calibration, press save to finalize the results. To perform the yield calibration, return to the calibration and procedures page and press Yield Calibration. The four step process required to complete the calibration is shown on the left hand side of the screen. On the right hand side we can see details such as when the machine was last calibrated, recommended calibration interval and an estimated calibration time. This information is based on the previous calibrations that have been performed on the machine. Press Calibrate the prerequisites will be shown. These include making sure the accumulator and module builder are empty prior to performing the calibration, that the calibration concludes with a full sized module and an empty accumulator. Once again, whilst performing a yield calibration you want the crop to be as consistent as possible to achieve the best results. Avoid the edger fields, areas with low uniformity and headland turns. Click next to start the calibration and begin to collect sample data. If you exit this screen, the yield calibration will continue to run whilst harvesting as shown by the pop up window. You can also look to the flashing symbol on the status bar that confirms the calibration is still in progress. For the initial period of the calibration, auto mode may be used while you continue harvesting. Once the module nears completion at around 210cm in size, revert to manual mode and hold the Manual round module builder button so that nothing is gathered in the accumulator. Once the module has reached full size, wrap it and empty it from the module builder, press the HID cotton button to view and record the weight of the recently ejected cotton module, which is required for the next step of the calibration. Return to the yield calibration. Click Next and enter the recorded scale weight. Press Save to finalize the weight and complete the yield calibration.
