Tim Gerlach describes how John Deere dealers sourced a damaged intake auger from a European parts center and replaced it on-site, showing how dealer logistics keeps farm equipment running without long downtime.

My name is Tim Gerlach. I recently had a customer who had an intake auger on an older combine damaged by a stone. Unfortunately, such a large part was not in our stock. One called to European Parts Distribution centre and the intake auger was shipped straight away. It arrived at our customers farm the next morning and we replaced it on site immediately. The combine was up and running again before the dew was dry. Our customer was very satisfied and that's how part logistics should work.
