Two speakers walk through the John Deere EquipmentPlus app for setting up X series combines. The tutorial covers outside and inside machine settings, the Grain Loss Calculator, and Performance Optimization features to help you configure equipment for harvest.
In this video, I'm going to show you the EquipmentPlus app. Equipment plus provides machine information and setup support for a variety of John Deere machines. Today we will look at X series combines. The app has settings for inside and outside the harvester, as well as front end equipment and a variety of crop types. We will start by selecting Harvester Outside Settings. This begins the workflow. This steps you through the machine adjustments to have the correct configurations for your selected crop type. Once you have completed the workflow, it will notify you that it is beginning the Front end equipment workflow. It will ask for the type of front end equipment you are using. For this example, we will select the hingedraper option. The workflow has pictures demonstrating the necessary adjustments.
We have now completed the outside adjustments. It is time to set up our display. We now begin the Harvester Inside Settings workflow. Step one demonstrates the recommended configuration range for our crop type. These are a good starting point before adjusting to suit your crop conditions in this field. We then work through Residue Management, Header Control, Hydro Handle setup and Header settings. You have now completed the combine workflow in the EquipmentPlus app. Within EquipmentPlus we also have a Tools button at the bottom. This provides us with four tabs. Instructions Grain Loss Calculator Calculator History and Performance Optimization the Grain Loss Calculator allows you to input the number of seeds you have found in a small area behind the combine and calculates loss per hectare. We can also use the Performance tab to optimize combine performance. Each of the separator, shoe tailings and tank options work through yes or no questions to determine how to improve performance.
