This is a YouTube video titled "John Deere Financial | Transforming Lives in Kowuor Central Village" containing a testimonial-style presentation from May 3, 2024. The content features Melias Sutenojo, secretary of Covert Central Village Youth Group, and another speaker discussing how access to a tractor through a community program has improved farming efficiency, food security, and livelihoods in their village. The speakers share personal and community benefits from mechanized farming and express gratitude for the opportunity.
We are so happy for you all.
There to have given us this opportunity because it has changed lives of the group members of the community.
I'm Melias Sutenojo. I'm a secretary of Covert Central Village Youth Group. We had difficulties preparing farms because we used to use the traditional way of.
Land preparation which is slow.
How it started is that our group is specialising vegetable farming. We are connected with agribis. They had set up a competition for tractor. So it is through this WhatsApp group which they created, it is them that posted that thing. That is how I got the information.
And then I applied on behalf of our group.
When we got the tractor, this changed. The result of this is that there is increasing food security has been enhanced in the area. We are also helping the other community members at a subsidised rate so that there is access to this mechanised kind of farming in the area. Personally, it has really changed my life. So with this a lot of things have improved. I'm able to make sure that my family has accessed three meals a day.
Which was difficult before.
They are able to attend school. I'm able to afford the fees or the other school requirements which require money. I'm able to build a reasonable house out of that.
We are very grateful for the opportunity.
We got to be given a tractor when we needed it so much. Not only the group members but the community. We just hope that they will do more.
We will link more and they do.
The same thing to other, they are serving communities elsewhere.
