John Deere | Lead In Technology Boot Camp 2024

John Deere leaders discuss how dealers and customers in Australia and New Zealand are adopting new agricultural technology. The focus is on training programs and integrating advanced machinery to improve farm productivity.
We're in Toowoomba today. We've asked all of our dealers from Australia, New Zealand to come in here so that we can showcase our new technology, what we have available to them, and really highlight how that is delivering outcomes for our customers.
Big thing that stood out is trying to make sure that the technology that's already integrated into our machines is being fully utilised by our customers as that speed of new technology coming to market increases. Got to make sure the adoption of that technology is keeping up with that and customers are comfortable with that.
So we go back, we want to run training with our staff that we've got, but also go out to the customers, offer information sessions, customer clinics, whether it's online or in person. Yeah, we need to get that word out there, not let them sit behind the steering wheel of their machines and not use the technology they've got.
You know, in anything, training and knowledge is critical and certainly in agriculture, it's no different. We know Australian and New Zealand farmers are some of the most productive in the world. Having the latest technology allows them to be able to compete on the world market.
There's a whole lot of work being done for those machines that can connect on 4G or WiFi, where this kind of productivity is available right now. So that means the technology needs to find its way through, and as it finds its way through, it needs to go through the dealership and the dealership needs to support it properly so we can deliver that kind of value.
Probably the biggest impact on farm for us is having now the full suite of seeding products at our disposal. The improvements that we've seen in ease of use, ease of calibration, potentially longevity and reliability in our seeding products. That's going to be pretty exciting to come into Australia. The exciting part is automating certain mundane tasks where you can put in less experienced operators in a piece of equipment that can actually drive it. And that, for me, the new S Series and the X Series combines actually fulfill that role. So it's really exciting to see.
In the past, we've seen machines get larger with more horsepower, but what we're really starting to see now is technology and the machine converged together to provide a harvesting solution. So it's not just about the harvester anymore, it's about the total harvesting solution and how that package is smarter together.
