John Deere - Operations Center - How to add a field

A walkthrough of John Deere's Operations Center software. Learn how to draw field boundaries, set up farms and clients, and use the guidance tools to manage your fields.
In this video we will show you how to add a field. If you click on the field icon, you will see all fields which you have already uploaded in the operations center from a USB stick or wirelessly via JDLink and wireless data transfer. To watch how you can do this, watch the separate video. If you want to add a new field, press the plus button, choose a field name, select a client. If you have already integrated clients in the operations center, you can use one from the drop down menu or you can add a new client. Now select your or another farm. Finally, you have to give the field boundary a name. Now you are ready to draw the field boundary. There are three different tools available depending on the shape of your polygon, circle and rectangle. The easiest way to create a boundary is zooming in on the map and then to draw the outline. Once the outline is finished, the system already calculates the size of the field. Now you only have to click on Add Field and your newly added field will be shown in the field list. To see the field flag, you can either select the field from the list or you can click directly on the shape on the map. Similar to the machine flag, the field flag gives you more information about this specific field. If you click on the eye icon, you can see general information about this field. This icon will open Field Analyzer which will be explained in a separate video. Clicking this icon will open Google Maps to show you the exact field location, or you can look at the jobs reports which are related to this field. If you have the My Job Connect license. To watch how you can do that, check out the other videos about the Operations Centre in the Fields Information tab. You can also get a summary about all your field operations you have stored in your Operations center. Up here you can choose which application you want to see the summary of as well as which year. The bars will tell you the totals of the selected application and year. Let's go back to the field flag. If you now click on the Information button, you can see General Information, Guidance, Information Boundary Management jobs, and you can merge and unmerge fields. Now we will look at Guidance Management in more detail. If you click on Guidance Management, you can see all your guidance lines which you have done in previous applications. You can also edit the name and also the heading of existing guidance lines. As soon as you save the changes, you can see that your guidance lines have been adjusted on the map. Sam.
