John Deere Operations Center™ - Work Planner for Harvest (Cotton)

A walkthrough of John Deere Operations Center's Work Planner tool for cotton harvest. Shows how to set up operations, select fields, send work plans to equipment, and manage tasks from desktop or mobile devices.
In this video, I'm going to show you how to plan work using WorkPlanner for your harvest operation. Setting up your operations in WorkPlanner allows you to plan work from your office or on the go, greatly simplifying the setup experience in the cab. Once planned work is sent to the display, work will automatically pop up for the operator as they drive into the field, or they can select the planned work from a list. To start, click the plan drop down in Operations center and select Work Planner. From the list, select the crop year you are planning for and the operation you are planning. In this example, we select 2022 and harvest we will be planning a cotton harvest. To plan new work, press the plus button in the top right corner of the screen. You will enter the workflow. The first step is to select the fields. This can be done by either selecting the fields on the map or list view. For example, we can filter the fields to select fields planted with cotton. Once you've selected the required fields, select next to continue. Now you select the crop type and variety. Please note that if Variety Locator is available, it will be used. You can select the guidance lines you wish to use for each field, then enter the specific machinery and implements from your Operations center account to pre populate when sent. You can also add a work order number and work instructions if required, which will be displayed on your Gen 4 display. You will then select the Save button at the bottom right of the page. This will return you to the Work Planner homepage with the work you have planned for harvest listed. You now see the planned work in the Work Plan list which you can prioritize or deploy at any time. Now we will send these files to relevant equipment for the task to be completed. To do this, we select the fields that you wish to send from the harvest list. Then select the Send to Equipment button at the top right of the page. This will open a new window with all JDLink enabled machines that can receive the files wirelessly. Once you have selected the relevant equipment, select the Send button at the bottom right of the page. You will then be notified that the file has been created. For any work not completed on a Generation 4 display, we can use Work Planner to complete the task. All of this can be completed on your mobile device by navigating to Operations Center. Select the plan tab, select 2022 work plan and then harvest. In the bottom right corner there is a plus sign to plan Harvest. Then follow the workflow to create and send your work plan. Work Planner Mobile is great for planning jobs on the go or modifying the planned work if conditions change. Operators can also consult the work plan list for more details or if the machine they are operating does not have a Generation 4 display. On your Generation 4 display you will receive a banner notification and see a pending notification icon in your status bar. Select either the banner or the status bar and download the received files. Once Imported to the Generation 4 display, the operator can select the predefined planned work, eliminating operator selection steps and saving time. This also results in more accurate documentation as the number of errors caused by manually typing can be eliminated. If there is any planned work for the field when the equipment enters a boundary, the operator will be prompted to start it. For any work not completed on a Generation 4 display, we can use WorkPlanner Desktop to complete the task. Select the fields that you've completed and then select the Complete button at the top right and then complete on the pop up window. Make sure you check out our other dedicated how to videos.
