Russ Worsley from SunSouth walks through John Deere planter upgrade kits that add hydraulic downforce and larger hoppers. The upgrades improve planting accuracy and speed, with the demo shot at their Dawsonville, Georgia facility.
My name is Russ Worsley. I'm the integrated solutions manager here at SunSouth. We're at our Dawsonville, Georgia location today talking about performance upgrade kits specifically with planters. So right here behind me today we have a brand new 2009 model 1720 John Deere planter. And you can ask me how it's a new planter with a performance upgrade kit. We have the ability to take your old planter toolbar and fan and put on brand new row units front to back, either xactemerge or 5e tecno. And we'll walk around a little bit here and look at them and we'll be able to show you how we can make your planter that you already have better. Alright, so this particular performance upgrade kit that we did for this customer, we went with the individual row hydraulic downforce. We also have a pneumatic airbag system that we can also put on the 2.8 almost 3 bushel hopper here versus a 1.6 bushel hopper. If you were wanting to put insecticide with smart boxes or something like that, you would have to go with the smaller hopper. This one also has the Xactemerge performance kit on here for increased emergence, increased accuracy and being able to plant at higher speeds up to 10 mile an hour depending on your soil conditions. We also have a spoke gauge wheel here to keep from having mud and dirt and debris build up in the gauge wheels and cause an inaccuracy with your depth. And then we also have the Yetter twisters for our closing system. We can also put on a pneumatic airbag closing system as well. Alright, so for these performance upgrade kits, make sure that you contact your local sun south dealership for a quote on this to make your old planter new again.
