John Deere Precision Ag Technology MADE EASY! │ Machine Compatibility with ISOBUS

Heine and John Deere dealer Florian Schaluck explain ISOBUS technology, which lets tractors and implements from different manufacturers work together. The AEF certifies compatibility, and John Deere's system handles automatic section control and software updates so farmers don't have to manage multiple displays.
Isobus is not equal to Isobus. This sentence expresses that in practice there are more often problems between electronic systems, such as between tractor and implement of different manufacturers. Today I am with a John Deere dealer, their first point of contact on site. And I would like to talk to Florian Schaluck from Depstuka about this topic.
Hello, Heine.
Hello, Florian. Florian. When I look into the cab of a tractor, I often see that a separate display is used for each of the various implements. If I want to buy a fertilizer spreader, do I need an extra display to use all the functions?
Heine, if you buy an Isobus fertilizer spreader with the John Deere operating concept, you. You can fully use the fertilizer spreader with your existing display in the cab. If you want a second monitor for easier, convenient operation, you can purchase a second monitor from us to see everything on multiple displays at the same time. You don't need any other displays for your cap.
As a customer, how do I know if I need an extra display or if my John Deere Traktor display can communicate with the implementation?
Good question. The AEF was founded for this purpose in 2008. It's an independent organization where any manufacturer can have their products certified for Isobus functions. So contractor or farmer can search your machine and check what is compatible with each other.
Very good. Where can I find this information?
You can find them online in the AEF database. You can access them via your computer or via an app, for example, your tablet. Here I've selected the 4600 terminal which we have on the tractor. And now I can add another manufacturer down here. I also have a Roush fertilizer spreader back there. I can select it here and immediately have an overview of which functions are compatible with each other.
That's great. Can we take a look at that right away?
Of course. Come with me. Now we have everything together. We see that our implement is already loading here. Both are certified in the AEFUT app. The Isobus universal terminal. Here we have the interface to operate the fertilizer control. In this variant we still have the convenience with the extended display. And I can even transfer the operation from the fertilizer spreader to the other display and control it from there.
This is ingenious. Very simple. What's the situation now with automatic section control?
Automatic section control is also possible in this combination. We just saw in the AEF that both devices are TCSC task controller section controller certified. The combination works. We can map 256 boom sections there with our John Deere display and can switch boom sections on all kinds of equipment. Whether a crop protection, sprayer, fertiliser control, seeding or laying equipment. Anything is possible.
We use quite a few abbreviations. Where can I find more information?
You can find them right here in the app. I can swipe down here. The individual functions are then displayed larger and I only need to click on one, for example task, controller, section control. It's then neatly explained what function is hidden behind it.
There are a lot of product developments and innovations and that brings us to the point of software updates. On the one hand we have the John Deere display, and on the other hand we have the implement.
This is relatively simple. With the John Deere display we have new updates with new features several times a year. These are extensively tested and also certified by the aef. This means if you attach an AEF certified implement to the rear with certified software, you'll have no complications and can confidently update your tractor.
So, and now there are also products, but I can't find the information on the AEF database. How do I proceed now?
Yes, that's a good question. It happens a lot. We will need to look a little closer there. You should always contact us as your dealer or the implement manufacturer and we will look at our network or possible combinations that we already know. Work together well.
Yes. Florian, thank you very much for the detailed information and I would like to summarize it once more. The highest safety is provided by AEF certified products. And a very big advantage is also then that I no longer need another display with the John Deere operating concept. And another great solution is that I only need one contact person on site, namely your John Deere dealer. And that's what I call a smart solution. It.
