John Deere | S700 The Automated Combine Part 7 - Dynaflo Plus

The Dynaflo plus cleaning shoe is a completely new grain cleaning concept. Constructed from lightweight aluminium, it's almost 200kg lighter than a traditional steel system using rivets instead of welded seams. It's also stronger, allowing higher capacity material flow without the risk of cracks or structural failure. It's one of the longest cleaning shoes on the market and with a total area of up to 5.9 square meters, it's also one of the largest. High performance cleaning starts with the auger delivery system. The augers are gentle on the grain and maintenance free. Their self cleaning design works well in dirty conditions. Less sensitive to slopes, the augers ensure the grain is deposited evenly across the raised front chaffer. The front chaffer performs two roles. It acts as a pre cleaner, cleaning almost half the grain. But just as important, it helps take the load off the main chaffer as it removes a large amount of chaff. This allows the main chaffer to work more efficiently and makes it hard to overload. The high capacity fan delivers up to 740 cubic meters of air per minute. The main airflow is directed towards the front of the chaffer where most of the chaff is removed. The Dynaflo system is also less sensitive to changing conditions. No pre chaffer adjustments are required and independent studies show changes to the fan speed have little impact on performance. The S700 the 780 to S790 models are also equipped with an active tailing system for even higher throughput. It acts as a re thresher which increases the capacity of the combine by taking care of the tailings separately. This allows the concave to be opened wider which lowers both the power requirement and fuel consumption. This all adds up to more performance and better grain quality with lower losses. Sam.
