This is a YouTube video titled "Meet the Thorncraft Family | Join the Family 2022 (Australia)" featuring Will Thorncraft introducing his family, their farm, and their passion for sustainability and land regeneration. The video showcases their use of John Deere machinery, particularly Big Rog, to manage their property and farming tasks efficiently. It highlights their relationship with the John Deere team and their commitment to passing on country values to their children. The content is a personal and promotional presentation rather than a conversation.
Hi, we're the Thorncrafts. My name's Will. There's my wife Emma and our newborn baby daughter, Ava. We have a few dogs, a whole lot of pigs, a few sheep, Eddie the Emu and of course, our newest member of the family, Big Rog. So we're at Trenton. Trenton's situated 20 kilometres north of Dubbo. We live here on the property. It's 380 acres. Growing up around the land, we know the importance of country values and workmanship and that's something that we want to pass on to our children. You know, having lots of animals around and lots of space for them to play and adventures to be had is something pretty important that we want to pass on to our kids. Not only are we passionate about sustainability, but we're also passionate about regenerating the soils and the landscape. That's the reason we've started Next Gen Regen, which we're running out of the property here. Big Roger has been a tremendous help in setting up paddocks during this wet season. You know, to set these new one hectare paddocks up, we've got a slash, we've got to lay out new electric fencing and we're also going to be feeding animals most days. So having Big Rog during this wet season has been fantastic. We use Big Rog nearly every day. Having the amount of pigs that we do, we obviously go through an enormous amount of food. So having Big Rodge there to move, feed out hay and bust open the hay has really made everyday feeding a lot easier. Big Rodge is extremely important in allowing us to get the work done in a small amount of time that we have. Emma and I both currently work full time jobs, so we need a reliable, durable machine to get the job done. The chickens are a full time job as well. We use Big Rog to move the caravan every day so we can spread the manure around. And once a week we've got to move all the fencing and the caravan to a new plot. Having Big Rodge there has allowed us to do it with ease. So when we went to pick up Big Rog, we couldn't resist the urge to buy one of the Z tracks. The Z track's a little ripper. I can get around and do the lawns fairly quick. Being able to manoeuvre around the trees and get a bit of speed going to cut the lawn makes the job get done quickly. Walking into John Deere, Emma and I felt right at home in today's world. It can be hard to find someone you can trust and get good, reliable help from, you know, in Gil and John Deere, we found them both. With Gil's engineering background and knowledge on John Deere tractors and implements, and his ability to understand what I needed made the decision for us a lot easier. Gill made me feel like I was dealing with a friend rather than a sales rep, and we've formed a genuine relationship. I've had a lot of history with working with John Deere machinery, and I've always wanted to have my own. So we both feel very blessed to finally be a part of the John Deere family and own our own tractor.
