This is a YouTube video titled "Part 2: Understanding ECO Engine Speed" created on June 27, 2016, explaining the function and adjustment of ECO engine speed settings on tractor transmissions. The content features a technical explanation by two speakers discussing how the ECO on and ECO off settings affect engine speed and transmission behavior under light load conditions.
Have you ever wondered what the ECO ON and ECO off settings on the E23 and E18 main transmission page do well in this video, I will answer that question as we explore the purpose of the ECO engine speed settings. The ECO engine speed settings is the engine speed that Efficiency Manager will shift up and throttle back to in light load conditions. Think of it as the floor or the lowest allowed engine speed.
Two minimum engine speeds can be set, one for ECO on and one for ECO Off. We toggle back and forth between these with the ECO button on the display or on the hand throttle driving the tractor. With ECO on selected and the hand throttle in the wide open position, the tractor is shifting up and throttling back to approximately 1200rpm. It is rare for the tractor to reach exactly 1200rpm because it is a gear transmission and if it were to upshift one more gear, the engine speed would have to go below 1200rpm in order to maintain our commanded set speed. When I choose ECO off, the tractor.
Downshifts and the engine speed increases to.
Approximately our 1700 eco off setting.
Eco engine speeds can be adjusted at any time by selecting the desired field and then use the plus or minus buttons to increase or decrease the setting. Notice on the corner post that the tractor will adjust the transmission gear and engine speed accordingly to maintain the new ECO engine speed. Remember, the ECO engine speed setting is the floor or the lowest allowed engine speed that Efficiency Manager will shift up and throttle back to in light load conditions.
