This is a YouTube video titled "Patrik Aittamäki and IBC" containing a monologue by Patrick Itamaki from Matsukona oftoma Itamaki, discussing his extensive experience in forestry and his positive impressions of the IBC machine technology, highlighting its precision, operator comfort, durability, and long-term benefits. The content is a personal testimonial rather than a conversation.
My name is Patrick Itamaki. I'm from Matsukona oftoma Itamaki, located in Christinen Kaupunki. We currently have 10 machines, five forwarders and five harvesters. I've been involved in forestry ever since I was a little kid, doing what I could, when I could. I can say that IBC has eliminated the hits of the extension to the boom structure. Especially when the boom is at its maximum reach. The movement is more precise and calm. With ibc, the operator can work a lot longer with less stress and without getting as fatigued. You can also think about other things than just worrying about the end damping. That is where the advantages really show. I really noticed during thinnings that as you are reaching out between the trees, you can already be looking around for the next tree. At the same time, the durability is really outstanding. And that alone is noteworthy. When the boom extension is moving inward, it doesn't hit to the boom structure or bang the tree trunk. That's something that really annoyed me every time. IBC is something we never would have thought about getting. But after having the opportunity to test drive the machine, we are seriously considering it. My father has operated force machines his whole life. And when he went out to give IBC a try, I really had my doubts about what would happen. But it didn't take long before I got a call from him admiring how great the machine is. He admitted that also an old man can learn a new way of working and and can see the advantages of it. I have to say that we haven't found anything negative about it. One of our operators just had the opportunity to try it out on a thinning. And when I asked him for his opinion, it was pretty clear. He said there's no going back to the old way. Yet another operator who's been convinced as soon as he tried IBC for the first time, he noticed its advantages and how easy it was to operate. He has been working with us for a decade. IBC costs a bit, but we can see the advantages it will bring over the long term. It will undoubtedly pay for itself. Operating IBC is nice even if you think you're a skilled operator because you've been running the machine for a few years. The shocks to the boom without IBC is sure to get your attention. It's so great to operate the boom at full power, and even then the work is smooth. It really makes working something enjoyable. The boom is like an extension of your arm.
