Precision Ag Technologies - Digital solutions walkaround | John Deere

Jack Howard, a Precision Ag Specialist at John Deere UK and Ireland, walks through the company's digital farming tools: JDLink telematics, Connected Support, and Operations Center, a platform for tracking machine performance and crop data.
Hello and welcome. My name is Jack Howard and I'm the Precision Ag Specialist here at John Deere UK and Ireland. Today I'm going to talk to you about JDLink connectivity through our telematics solution, about John Deere connected support and the suite of tools we can offer you in that respect and also how you can manage and analyze JDLink machine data and agronomic information in the myjohndeer.com operations center. So firstly I want to talk to you about our brand new platform in myjohndeer.com that has just had a fresh new update and you can see here all of the changes that we have made to that brilliant new platform. On the left hand side there is a panel of applications and you can quickly access them whenever you need to. For example Stellar Support the Operations center for agronomic information and the JDLink dashboard for your machine data. The new platform of myjohndeer.com has a much nicer user friendly layout, clearly labelling all of your need to know information. So at the top we have a home page, a list of applications and then on the right hand side you can select your preferred dealership and all of their contact information will be available when you need it. On the left hand side there is a panel of applications and you can quickly access them whenever you need to. For example Stellar Support the Operations center for agronomic information and the JDLink dashboard for your machine data. In the center of the panel there is a notifications section and that will give you all of your notifications and alerts for machines or organizational changes. Further down the screen you can access your equipment information and this will display all of your connected machines that are available in your operations center and JDLink account. And then right at the bottom of the screen we have service and parts information so you can find machine manuals and also search for parts of your machine too. At John Deere we're really trying to advance the digital revolution in agricultural machinery through connectivity. We do that with JDLink telematics. JDLink allows us to remotely connect a machine and access that machine's performance and utilization information. It can also allow us to wirelessly transfer agronomic and crop information. And in addition it provides access to a wide range of John Deere connected support features to allow you to keep going in the field at critical times. JDLink is installed in base equipment from 6R to 9R tractors, combines foragers and self propelled sprayers. We can collect a lot of data using JDLink location performance utilisation amongst Other things. With the help of that data and the expertise from your dealership, we can fine tune your machine and optimize it in its operation. And we can help you get the most out of your investment. Another thing that JDLink enables us to do is to remotely support you in the field. We have access to a number of tools that will enable you to keep going in the field when times are tough. The John Deere Connected Support suite of tools includes tools such as Remote Display Access, allowing our dealerships to offer remote support while viewing your display in cab. Our dealerships also have a tool called Service Advisor Remote and that allows our dealers to remotely connect to your machine, access diagnostic information from that machine, and that allows them to remotely diagnose any issues that may be arising and get you fixed quicker without potentially even having to visit that machine. And finally, we have Expert Alerts, a tool unique to the industry that allows John Deere dealers to to use predictive maintenance to prevent failures before they occur. For more information on John Deere Connected support, head to the deere.co.uk website or the John Deere UK and Ireland YouTube channel. And lastly, we've got the John Deere Operations Centre which is the home of all of your agronomic information. So we head to the myjohndeer.com website. The left hand side under your applications there's a shortcut to the operations center and this opens up a dashboard and a map view of all of your connected machines and connected fields. Once in the operations center, there's a variety of tools at your disposal. From accessing where your machines are and where they've been, seeing your fields and crop information, then also analyzing the detailed data of that crop and field performance. So on the top left hand corner of the operations center menu there is a list of connected tools and you can really see how many tools we have available. From the land manager that allows you to create and manage your fields and field boundaries, to the team manager that allows you to create teams and access permissions for all of those people that you're working with. Another really important tool in the operations center is the field analyzer and this allows us to dig into the detail of field and crop performance. So just entering the operation center map here, selecting a field and then launch the field analyzer application, this will present us with a lot of information. Firstly, the agronomic panel on the left hand side which gives us some basic totals of the field performance. A timeline along the bottom here which indicates different operations that have occurred in that field through the years and through the seasons. And then finally, in the centre of the map is a yield map which indicates where in that field crops were performing well and not so well. So not only can we access all of this information on the John Deere Operations Centre online on our desktop, we can also use the My Operations app to access this info too. Here you can see we've got exactly the same information on both platforms. So the platform that we use to access and analyze machine performance and utilization data is, is the JDLink dashboard. And that is accessible through the My John Deere new portal. In the dashboard we have a map view and then we have a machine list. And if I just zoom into one of these machines, click on that tractor, I can access a summary view of that machine's data. On the bottom of this left hand panel we can see all the data available for this tractor. And this information is from machine location, average engine speed, even average wheel slip for that machine's operation. But as you can see, there is a vast array of data that this machine is transmitting back to my John Deere in the JDLink dashboard. Take one example, I can even graph that machine's data to see how well it's performing. So that was a quick overview of the connectivity solutions we have available in John Deere Precision ag. For more information, speak to your local John Deere dealer, head to the deere.co.uk website or look at our John Deere UK Ireland YouTube channel for more videos and some how to videos on how to operate the tools I've run through today.
