During the season, all your machines are in use and you work daily to optimize your farming operations. This means that today there's no way around precision farming solutions. But what do I really need for that? That's what I'm going to talk about today with Zhonya. Sonja. What do I need for a successful start on my farm?
At John Deere, you need just four core components. That's what we call our winning system. That already allows you to exploit all the essential solutions in the field of precision farming. This includes first our Starfire receiver, that's installed on the roof and is responsible for precise positioning of the machine in the field. Then we have our display in the machine, which is the computer, and the operation unit, which controls the machine for all applications. With these two components, you can already optimize the machine in the field and, for example, operate with automatic steering and automatic section control.
That works great today. However, it's no longer sufficient to just optimize the machine in the field. What else do I need?
That's absolutely right. To go one step further and make optimum use of all the solutions we need to network the machine and the processes in the office. The key to that is JDLink. That refers to the communication unit that enables the automatic data transfer between the machine and the John Deere operations center. And then of course, the operations center itself, the management software in the cloud. There, all the processes are managed centrally. That can be done from the office, but just as easily on the move using, for example, a smartphone or tablet.
Where do you see the benefits of our components?
These four components work together in a fully integrated way. That means they're super easy to operate, and I can use them on my entire fleet and even on machines from competitors and that all year long. So I benefit from all the solutions, from seeding through to harvesting.
If you already have autotrack on your machine, you definitely have two of these components already installed, the display and the receiver, and probably also a third component, JDLink, which is integrated into the machine. So all you need to do is unlock the John Deere operations center, and that's free of charge.
