Heine and Sonja walk through John Deere's StarFire 7000 receiver, the latest precision agriculture technology. It improves satellite signal reception and RTK accuracy, helping farmers work more precisely in their fields.
Agricultural businesses want and need to continually optimize an even more precise placement of seeds or liquid manure, as well as more exact plant protection measures form the basis for this. I would like to talk to Sonja about the latest developments here. Sonja, what's new with our guidance systems?
We now have a brand new Starfire 7000 receiver. As usual, it can be used all year round on new and already available machines. And on some John Deere machines, it is also installed directly in the roof. That is an integrated variant.
A very stylish design. But what else can it do?
I'll show you. On the one hand we have a new design, meaning you'll also see two super practical handles on the sides which totally simplify moving from machine to machine.
Wow, it looks even better from up close. What other advantages does it offer?
With the Starfar 7000 receiver, we not only receive GBS and GLONASS, but now we receive by DO and Galileo satellite signals as well. This of course makes our network coverage much better. This means that we have more signal strength and are even more independent of interference factors such as those caused by.
Shading from trees, which also leads to greater reliability. Speaking of signal strength, what about the correction signals?
For starters, we offer our free and very popular SF1 signal. As usual, the majority of all farmers Drive with it. SF1 has a track to track accuracy of plus or minus 15 centimeters, which allows for rock solid work in the field and is also much more precise than the entry level versions of many other suppliers on the market.
With the previous SF6000 receiver, we offer the SF3 signal as the next expansion stage. What about the SF7000?
With the SF7000 we have a brand new RTK signal with an accuracy of 2.5cm and it doesn't require an extra radio or cellular modem. We call it Starfire rtk.
Great RTK accuracy. Without any additional hardware, what can the new signal do?
The signal build up time to reach full accuracy is less than 10 minutes and the repeatability for tracking lines and field boundaries is five years. So the whole thing is also very interesting for perennial crops. It has never been so easy to get into RTK accuracy.
Do we still need mobile radio or funk RTK at all?
We're convinced that with the Starfire RTK we can satisfy a great many customers who want to get into RTK accuracy. The entry price is very attractive and the management of field boundaries and track lines as well as the sub area specific processing better. And to answer your question Heine, the advantage of radio or mobile funk RTK is still the extremely fast signal build up time of less than two minutes. This is especially interesting for customers who often switch surfaces. In addition, radio or cellular RTK has unlimited repeatability. This means that track guidance lines and field boundaries are still accurate after five years and do not need to be re recorded.
Sonja, what other trends are you seeing?
In addition to the tractor, more and more attachments such as sea drills are also being equipped with a receiver to be even more precise in the following operation. Furthermore, subplot specific management is also gaining tremendous importance, in part because application maps can be easily created using drones or via satellites.
And then I can easily send these maps wirelessly to the machine via the operations center. With the SF7000 receiver, we offer farmers and contractors a suitable solution and make the entry into precision farming even easier and more accurate than ever before. Now that's what I call a smart solution.
