Real Work. Real Results. The 6R 250 in Action

This is a YouTube video titled "Real Work. Real Results. The 6R 250 in Action" featuring Harry Llevisage from Llevisage Contractor's Limited. The content is a detailed monologue describing their agricultural contracting operations, the use of John Deere tractors, and the benefits of the equipment's features such as reliability, dealer support, and technology integration. The video was created in August 2025 and focuses on practical farming machinery usage and efficiency.
I'm Harry Llevisage, Llevisage Contractor's Limited, run alongside my dad Chris and we have seven six -art John Deere tractors ranging from one five five up to the two fifty. We're running a large contracting operation alongside our beef cattle that we have at home, so five fifty to six hundred and then a small arable operation as well. We're drilling predominantly maize and harvesting grass and whole crop rhai for AD plants and beef farmers. When we're changing tractors and fleas we're looking at maximum reliability really and dealer backup, that's the big thing for us. We do really like the John Deere's how we have all JD linked, they're all linked together. When we're out contracting we can create the fields, everyone's got access to the same fields without having to have boundaries on every tractor and that's a big benefit to us. They have the implement guidance running on this drill which is also linked to the John Deere steering, it's just simple to use and very effective. Mostly with this two fifty, this one does the maize drilling with the nine -metre Vardastad that we got last year, which we needed the two fifty for its power and its big hydraulic pump. It then does most of the corn drilling with the six -metre Vardastad and it'll do a variety of trailer work and just any land work that's in between. Both two ffifties have a sport package, it's a massive benefit, you can notice a big difference with stability on the road with the wider rims and the smaller leather steering wheel, it's a lot nicer turning on headlands, a lot more in control. I think it's more effective with the variable steering, it's not as twitchy on the road, it will do a lot of trailer work, it hasn't done yet but it will which I think will be a benefit for that. You'll feel more under control and especially running the tyres down at a bar, a 0 .8 bar, you can get movement inside walls rolling about but the small steering wheel and the wider rims doesn't seem to give you the same role that the old traps used to do. In the cab on the two fifty and all the other six hours I really like the visibility on them, they're just a nice, quiet, comfortable place to be when you're spending long hours in them and they're just a nice place to be compared to some of the other brands that we've had in the past. The visibility in them isn't quite as good and you get used to, it just feels like home really, I'm one of them. The difference between the old two fifty and the new two fifty have got the new Apple Carplay radio which is great because when you're travelling further afield and contracting some of the labs that have worked for us, maybe you don't know where they're going, they're not constantly on the phone, they can get it on the radio before the set off and it cuts out that risk of getting in trouble. And the sports package just makes a nice place to be. The reason we keep buying John Deere traps is because the labs that work for us really like them, they get on really well with the operations centre which is a big benefit to our business, being able to go in the same field without having to create loads of fields in each trap. But when you swap the traps as it's easily carried over to the next ones or if you buy an extra one you can sync them together, it is really beneficial.
