This is a YouTube video titled "Running a fleet of X-Series combines from JOHN DEERE" containing a detailed monologue by Simon Pulvermann and Volkmar Brandt from Baltic Agrar on the island of Rugen. They discuss their farming operations during harvest, focusing on the performance, efficiency, and advantages of the X9 combine harvester, including its throughput, fuel consumption, and use of JDLink for operational management. The content is a single-speaker presentation about agricultural machinery and logistics from June 2023.
Hello, I'm Volkmar Brandt from Baltic Agrar on the island of Rugen. We are in the harvest right now. We are a farming operation on the island. We decided for the X9 combine to increase the throughput during the harvest to optimally utilize the harvesting day. Due to a reduced time window during the day, we need to generate relatively high area performance within a few hours in order to be able to bring in our harvest. The threshing quality of the x9 combine is very satisfying for us. This allows us to run relatively high throughputs with few broken kernels and low losses. The fuel consumption of the machines is very convincing. At the moment we run with significant significantly less fuel consumption per hectare compared to the combine we used before. The Strengths of the x9 combine with the HDX cutting platform are first, that we have an even crop flow into the machines and second, that we achieve a very smooth stubble pattern adapted to the land. We can cut very precisely and guide the crop precisely through the machine. We can adjust the combine relatively easily and as the combine is self adjusting, it produces very little or losses while achieving high throughputs. My name is Simon Pulvermann. I also work for Baltic AGRA as operations Manager. I am currently responsible for all our combines and today we're threshing wheat. We use JDLink both for the operations managers and the workforce. For us it is an advantage as it gives us a quick and real time overview of the machines and their output, especially when it comes to coordinating transport and logistics. We use the operations center intensely especially because knowing the recorded yield of the combine gives us a pretty accurate picture of how much we harvest in individual areas of the field. We can then use this as one component for our application maps and adjust our fertilizer, pest management and even liming requirements. The first days of threshing have shown that our decision so far has not been wrong. The machines deliver a very strong performance. At the moment our problems are not threshing related, but we struggle with the logistics and grain warehousing at the moment. The combines fully meet our expectations. Sam.
