This is a YouTube video titled "SeedStar Mobile: Remote Monitoring" containing a multi-speaker discussion from August 2016 about the use of John Deere technology for real-time monitoring and diagnostics in agricultural planting. The speakers discuss the importance of remote visibility into planter performance, the ability to detect issues early, and collaboration with vendors to improve outcomes. The content focuses on agricultural technology and operational efficiency.
Me, as a manager, can get on my John Deere and look and see what's going on. It's the key to knowing what you're doing out there. You shouldn't be a guest. You should know if you're having singles, if you have doubles, because that makes or breaks you.
It is important to be able to see that wherever you're at. And I look at it a little bit as. From my perspective, if my dad's out in the field and he has a question, then that's. That's different than, you know, if I'm out there, I might be able to handle it. Dad runs a planter one day a year. He don't know exactly what may or may not be the problem out there, but I gotta be someplace and he's running the planter. Well, he has a question. I can look at that monitor and see not. Yeah, pretty much looking at the monitor and seeing what maybe is or is the problem.
Well, it really dials it in per row. What I really like seeing is you can see what your population is doing everywhere, see if there is a problem on slope or speed or what you're doing out there. And we just kind of. Instead of having a general look at it, you look row by row.
And as we partner more closely with some of our vendors and suppliers on whether it be our John Deere dealer, on maybe there's a performance issue going on with the planter, they can pull up the maps and the information and help diagnose the problem. We can work more closely with the supplier. Those types of things, I think, are going to become more and more important. And this gives us an avenue to do that.
It's very important because you can catch a mistake before it happened instead of waiting, oh, we didn't get a good stand there. Three weeks later, it's like you just lost profit on a whole quarter that you weren't monitoring. So, I mean, it's very critical that you know what's going on in your field all the time.
