The Management Minute brought to you by Sunsouth for quality John Deere equipment. Think sun south for those who do.
Well, it's summertime planting here at Realtree Farms and summer planting is really an important time to plant for. Deer does need the most protein and forage for the fawns and then obviously your bucks, they really need that protein this time of year too. I'm going to go in here and drill these iron clay peas into some existing plots that I've already sprayed. We got a pretty good stand of clover in here in this plot. We're growing these iron clay peas in here because they're the perfect summertime food plot. They got so much protein in them. These peas are really drought tolerant and they produce anywhere between 25 and 30% protein for your deer. They also put nitrogen into the ground for your soil. All we got to do is a little maintenance on it and we'll be getting ready for the fall. Now.
