This is a YouTube video titled "SunSouth Employee Spotlight: Meet John" featuring an English monologue from February 3, 2021, where John Atledge, an employee at SunSouth in Columbus, Georgia, shares his work experience, customer service stories, and personal interests. The content highlights his role progression, customer care philosophy, and workplace culture at SunSouth.
Hi, my name is John Atledge. I work at SunSouth in Columbus, Georgia. I've been with SunSouth for approximately two and a half years. I started out as a technician up until I was a technician up until about four or five months ago when opportunity came open I transferred more into a shop foreman, service rider responsibility. My day to day activities include handling, dealing with the customers from the time they pick up the phone to inquire about service to when they bring their equipment in. And I keep in contact with them throughout the whole process. Make sure I've addressed all their concerns, make sure the customer satisfied and then I assist text, make sure they've got work to do. If they have any questions that I can answer to help speed them up, I'll help them any way I can. My favorite part of working for SunSouth is when you come to work here, it's like a family atmosphere. It's nice working for a company that you know you're more than just a number. You know they care about you and they know you directly. When you get people coming down from corporate that you've never met, they know who you are already. It's just a great family atmosphere and I love helping the customers. They'll come in, you know, having a bad day, thinking they've got major issues and come to find out we usually take care of pretty quickly and they are really happy about that. My favorite customer experience is we had a customer out of Pine Mountain who contacted me, has had issues with his mower and it just went out of warranty by a few days. He brought it up here, we started looking, realized his engine had failed and the engine for that particular model was going to be installed was around $5,000 and they were upset. I ended up was able to work with John Deere since the warranty had just ended and and was able to get that covered for them at no cost. They were extremely grateful and happy. Then about two weeks after that experience when they picked it up and everything, they actually catered lunch for the whole store and we've kept in contact with them. I mean they're great people. They actually aren't business routes, performance racing so they understood from a business perspective how it was to be taken care of like that and they really appreciated it. In my free time, I like spending time with my wife and two kids who enjoy spending all my money in their free time. And when I'm doing that, I like to hunt and fish whenever chance I get. My favorite part about working with our co workers is we get to cut up and have fun. But at the end of the day, everybody cares about the customer. We know that that's who we're here for at the end of the day, and it's nice to know that everybody in the store honestly cares about making sure the customer is taken care of at the end of the day. That's our goal.
