Nico Baumann and Aaron Kummer use the John Deere 8R with eAutoPowr transmission on their farm. They praise its traction, quiet operation, GPS integration, and comfort. The dealer service keeps them running.
My name is Nico Baumann. I've been working here for eight years and have learnt here. I've been working in the field for four years and I'm driving the new 8R since this year. We have around 400 dairy cows, 1300 hectares of arable land and almost 400 hectares of grassland. I am Aaron Kummer. I've been here on the farm since 2015. We use the 8 re auto power mainly for heavy tillage and also for light tillage, to prepare the seed bed preparation and for stubble tillage. We chose this tractor in particular because of its very good traction. In my opinion, the E auto power transmission puts the power to the ground better than a conventional stepless transmission. The previous stepless transmission was significantly louder. It's very quiet. The transmission reacts much faster and everything is much smoother, even when accelerating. We've created the field boundaries for all our fields. This works perfectly. Using gps, the data was sent directly from the computer to the tractor. I only had to download everything and got all the data at once. I am very satisfied with this function. Everything is explained step by step. I really like it. Another advantage for me is the easy to understand steering system. I like the long wheelbase of the tractor, also the good visibility as well as the hood and the lamps at the front. The cab is very spacious. It's amazing that you can turn the whole seat to the back. It's much easier as you don't have to keep turning your head. The driving comfort feels like working from your sofa. When you get home in the evening, you don't realise that you've been sitting in the machine all day. The dealer service is really good, fast and reliable. The dealer is there when you need him. I would Definitely recommend the 8R.
