Everything we do is about giving our customers the best possible quality. Now we can control our operations in a way that was impossible a few years ago. Better quality silage that's cut to the right length and processed properly can make a big difference to the amount of milk cows produce. Being able to use automatic tools to set the amount of broken kernels doesn't just give us a better price when we come to sell, but our buyer is a lot happier as well. And being able to plant accurately has cut our seed bill. But it also gives exactly the right space for plants to reach their full potential.

Costs costs can quickly change. And the more we can measure what we do, the better we can manage it. From seeding through to spraying, we can have much greater control of our input costs. We can work faster as well. Our new sprayer covers a lot more hectares. And the new boom design is so accurate, we've cut down on chemicals. All these little things add up to big savings. We now make more bales per hour and they are much more compact. We save on time, net wrap and storage space.

My father can't believe how much you can harvest with the latest machines. Using all the tools to set up the combine properly, I can cut about 20% more than I used to. The multi drum threshing system has been a real surprise for us. It's not just the quality of the grain and straw. The fuel economy is better as the crop flow is smoother.

When you add connectivity to a machine, you can do so much more. Collecting data direct from the field in real time has changed the way we manage our business. If I can cut my fertilizer volumes by 10%, I can save 5% on input costs. That's direct profit to the business. With all this management data to hand, I'm already able to plan next year's harvest and manage my costs better than ever.
