29 Jan 2026 · 42 min
Summer McStravick explores shutdown parts: emotional areas we close off after trauma, family conditioning, or loss. She walks through how to recognize and gently reawaken them, then coaches a caller named Debbie through a stuck long-distance relationship and career indecision using Flow Dream visualization.

Flow Dreaming.
It's a show where we talk about the power of your mind to change your world around you, to literally affect the fabric of your reality. We talk about this feeling of hope.
And joy and relief, and that is what being aware of your flow does. It gives you a feeling of power.
Again in your lives.
Oh, my God.
You were so on target. You are so amazing. I can't thank you enough. Breathe.
It is the feeling that you bring forward.
It is your emotional connection that really.
Sets the tone for what is going.
To be happening to you and for you.
And you know that feeling when you touch it, it just spreads through you. Thank you for taking my call. I don't know why I feel like crying. I think I just feel your love, of course. And I think I'm gonna get some ANSWERS.
I'm Summer McStravik, and welcome to another episode of Flow Dreaming.
Welcome to Flow Dreaming. Gosh, I love that intro to the show so much. I haven't updated it in years, and I keep thinking, oh, I should. I should put some new colors and change it around. But then I just. Every time I hear it, I go, oh, I love that. Welcome to the podcast and the live radio show today. I'm Summer McStravik. This is Flow Dreaming, and if you're brand new, I welcome you openly to what is pretty much an hour of exploration. You'll get to learn a lot about me if you peruse through the many old archives. I think there's about 30 at a time up there on itunes, but you can easily get into the premium subscription area for a very inexpensive monthly fee, typically less than the cost of a grande plain cup of Starbucks coffee, in which case you'll find hundreds and hundreds of episodes going back to 2005, actually. And in every hour, you know, four hours a month, every, every week of the year, pretty much, I'm exploring manifesting. I'm exploring the way we think. I'm exploring our expectations for the world or for ourselves. I explore intuition and the kind of connectivity that we have with other people. I look at something called flow. That's obviously the name Flow Dreaming right there, because for me, flow and Flow Dreaming, really, that creates the context or the backdrop of everything that goes on in life. Looking at our world as an energetic substance of which we are part, of which we are highly connected and interconnected to one another. So it's not just our actions that create and determine our future. It's our feelings. It's our emotional selves. It's our energetic selves. It's the way that we give information back and forth to other people, whether it is spoken or acted on or simply felt or. Or known. So we kind of go through the whole rainbow, the spectrum of how information gets exchanged between people as well as within ourselves, as well as with energies or consciousnesses that are perhaps outside of ourselves, as well as with our past and our future. I'd like to, you know, think of life and the world as not being broken up into all these little bits and pieces, but rather one unified whole. So you can use the same substance or the same philosophy to kind of explore any aspect, aspect of it. Future, past, manifesting, creation, even things that seem like you can't manifest. Chaos, for instance. It's all wrapped into this. So we go through all of this over the. Over the course of the years and God, it's been a fascinating and fun journey. I look forward to it every week still. So if you came here to learn about manifesting and Law of Attraction, yes, you're in the right place. If you came here to learn about intuition and, and knowing things, being able to tap in, yes, you've come to the right place. If you've come here because you just thought this sounded kind of interesting and you weren't sure what you were going to get, well, hang in there, because there's even more than just those two areas that I just spoke of anyway. Yes, so that was one of my typical digressions where I suddenly realize I am so far off topic already. The topic of today's show is a really good, juicy one. It's called opening up the Shutdown parts. And one of my listeners sent me an email, or maybe she posted on Facebook, hey, Pearl, I think it was you asking, how do I choose the topics? You know, how do I. How do I come up with them every show? Why do I get into these different themes? And it's a great, great question. In fact, I often request you email me. What haven't I spoken about? What do you want to hear from me? I'll tell you. A lot of the time, the themes I come up with are very related to things that I myself have become fascinated with or involved with. For instance, you're going to be hearing healing, Freudian slip. You're going to be hearing a lot more about healing in the months ahead. I'm already planning a full series. Some of you remember I did the Go Big series Going Big back. I don't know, what was it, six or seven months ago? Eight, nine months ago? Now I'm moving into a fascination with the energies of healing. So today's show kind of actually fits into that. So often it's because I myself am moving through something and I'm exploring it and I'm excited about it and I'm sharing my breakthroughs and understandings with you from an energy and a flow perspective. Sometimes I'm bringing up things because I've been hearing from you. I've been hearing from you in Facebook or through my emails or in my ME school. I have something called the ME School of Flow, as well as my private Diamond Circle coaching program. And there will be trends. People will start talking about certain things and an issue, an energy will arise, and I'll realize I need to address this, I need to go into it. And so that's how I jump into a series of topics for people. Sometimes just looking ahead and thinking, what haven't I spoken about in a while? Where am I feeling a bald spot in my, you know, in the tire of my repertoire? And I'll look and say, oh man, I don't think I've ever spoken on that topic. So I'll speak to that. So all over the place. All over the place. That's the answer. So in case you wonder what, what else I do, yes, I have a website. It's flow dreaming.com. and you'll find a blog there from me. You'll find a sample where you can sign up for. You get my newsletter, but you also get my introduction to Flow Dreaming, which will be an MP3 that you can download, listen to, and start, you know, changing, manifesting, creating in your own life. So do check it out. There's also the manifesting store there where there are tons of great goodies and ways for you to start shaping and creating your future. Okay, so that is all the business. Let's jump into this idea of opening up the shutdown parts. It's kind of. I know it's a funny title for this show, but you know what it means, right? Instantly you're like, oh, yeah, I know what my shutdown parts are. I know we all have them and you know, some of them that are kind of common. I'm going to speak to you a little bit and then I'm going to give you some ways that you can start awakening these parts of yourself or healing them. The first step in healing, though, is waking up. Really. It's waking up to what needs to be healed, what is it? And often it's a shutdown part. For instance, if you've been through a divorce, if you just went through a Bad breakup. If you have not been involved with somebody for years, you probably have a shutdown part there. Something happened to you that caused you to withdraw, to feel unsafe, or to lose a sense of trust in yourself, trust to make good choices or to lose a sense of trust in your future that you will ever meet someone good. The result is that the drama of the past, say relationship, or the ongoing drama of not being in a relationship, think of it that way. That can be almost as traumatic. You know, a five year stretch of not dating anyone that begins day in, day out. It becomes what they call a constant stressor. It's in the background, you don't pay attention to it anymore. But pretty soon, this concept of dating somebody, of being loved by somebody, of being admired or being wanted, it goes away, disappears. It becomes deeply rooted and embedded in you. It's completely shut down. So you can become shut down really in either scenario. And there's more scenarios than that. But you wake up to that, you say, oh yeah, gee, I thought here not dating anybody was a smart thing to do after my last relationship. And then you realize, oh, but now I'm actually afraid to date anybody. I don't, I feel very uncomfortable being trusting, being intimate, being vulnerable, right? Maybe your vulnerability, your, your ability to be vulnerable has been shut down. Maybe your ability to feel safe in a relationship has been shut down. Sort of like, well, it's just going to break up. If I say that, we'll break up. If I do that, we'll break up. If he's going to do this or she's, then we'll break up. So there's no trust going on that's been shut down. Okay, Being aware, this is the first step, first step in healing. How about, how about your home life? Right. A lot of you are saying, yeah, my, you know, there's big parts of me that are shut down because of the way that I was raised. And you know, I learned that I had to take care of everybody or I learned that I would never behave like my father or my mother. I learned that you have to work really hard. And even then the results will be unpredictable. You may still lose it. Now you're thinking, well, these are just beliefs, right? That's what you're talking about. Not really. I want to know what has been shut down inside of you as a result of those beliefs. For instance, the hard work belief, you know what's been shut down inside of you, any sense of freedom or self trust that you can embark on any career that you want and you won't be hurt by it. Your family won't be penalized by it. What's been shut down is a belief that you never developed. You know, you completely nipped it in the bud. You don't have a sense that you could step out and be wildly crazy successful doing something you love and enjoy. That's why you're staying at work right now, being miserable in front of your computer, listening to me. Because that part of you is shut down. Maybe it was there when you were a kid. You know, what do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a ballerina. I want to be president. Right. And then that all went away. Where do you think it went? Got shut down. Or again, the family pattern itself. The feeling that someone always has my back, someone cares for me. My mom, she's always there for me. I can trust her. I can go to her when I can't go to anybody else in my life. Do you have that? Did you ever have that? Did you have that until you were three years old and then it got shut down? That's a shutdown part in you. And it's true, you may not be able to go back and reclaim that with your mom. Maybe she's old or ill or passed on or. Or emotionally incapable of it, but that doesn't mean that you can't still open up that in you. That sense of I can be vulnerable and open and know that somebody's got my back. I can still get that kind of emotional intimacy in my life. I refuse to allow that to be shut down. Okay, see where I'm going here? I'm just throwing out scenarios, hoping something will trigger. Speaking of work, how about a terrible work situation that you're suffering right now? Why do you think, what do you think that's doing? What do you think it's doing right now to you? I bet you that it is shutting down your passion. It's shut down your feelings of being recognized. Shutting down your ambition to grow and be heard. Maybe your work is fine. Maybe it's just totally dead end and boring. What part of you is being shut down? The part of you that says, I'm going to grow up and be really successful someday. Right. Didn't we all feel that way until we were around 20 and we realized by the time we were 25 and we weren't all millionaires with our gorgeous, you know, Beverly Hills homes or whatever the TV show was that inspired you. Then we realized, oh, maybe that's not quite how it works. And then we just let Go of those dreams. We allowed those dreams in ourselves to be shut down. That passion, that direction. So, you know, I don't mean to depress you. Some of you are like, God, Summer, these are all shut down in me. They're not all shut down in you. Some of them may be a little more shut down than others, but there are also parts of you that are wide open. Okay? Wide open. So when we get back from our first quick break, we're gonna go through this. I'm gonna show you ways to start reawakening these shutdown parts and why you might want to do so. You know, why do you want to. Why do you want to stir things up? Right? Isn't that the old saying? Why do you want to go stir things up? They're perfectly fine. Maybe. But here's the thing. If you're a manifester, if you want to be a brilliant, fantastic manifestor, all that law of attraction, all those classes, everything you've taken, if it's not fully realized right now in your life, if you haven't put all of that knowledge to use, if it's not manifested in front of you and you, you don't have the beautiful relationship and the, the work that you love and the surroundings and the home and the family that you love, if it's not already there, you've got shut down parts, you've got things that you want to create in, but you can't. That is why you're gonna want to do this. If you want to get better, if you want to be better, if you want to have that fulfillment. Here you go. First step, manifesting 101. All right, I'm Summer McStravik. I'll be back right after this break. We'll open up the shutdown parts. And by the way, you can always call me. You can find that number at my website, flowdriving.com. look up where it says radio and podcast. You're listening to Flow Dreaming with your host, Summer McStravik. All right, so why do we want to open these shutdown parts? Well, before we went to break, I mentioned some very good reasons. Because ultimately these are probably the quote unquote blocks and restrictions that you have been complaining about. They're the things that you can't seem to get past. The things in your life you can't see. They're shut down parts. They're not visible to you yet. You forgot you shut them down. You weren't aware they were even shut down. You're trying to manifest in their place to create something new and different, but you're coming up against some kind of resistance. The resistance is the fact that what you're trying to work with, you're not allowing up and out. Okay, so here's how you start to awaken these parts of yourself. How you sort of gently pry them back into your future, your. Your present. And it can be a delicate process because obviously they got shut down in the first place for probably a really good and potent reason. Maybe you were scared. Maybe you were afraid. Maybe you were feeling like, you know, if I, if I, if I wait for this or want this or crave this or desire this, it will be dangerous or I won't be allowed to have it and I will be disappointed. Or I was already so crushed. I never want to go through that again or I don't want to become like that person. My mom, my sister, my dad, my brother. Right. So you had a good reason for shutting down. So in order to wake up again, you have to be really gentle with yourself. It's kind of like coming to a bear that's been slumbering through the winter. You don't want to, you know, clap your hands really loud in its ears. You need to gently awaken that there, let it lumber out and stretch in the sunshine. That's you. So the first thing I do is when I recognize, oh, There's a part of myself that I just haven't owned. There's a part of myself that I haven't asked for. I haven't been asking for true fulfillment or true passion. I won't let myself quit that job and pursue what I want. I won't let myself start dating again because I think I'm always gonna end up, you know, as badly as I was the last time I tried. Recognize that when you shut down, whatever point that was last year or a decade ago, doesn't matter. You shut down in your past, you shut down when you were a different being, a different person. You had certain tools in your pocket back then, and you used the one that said, just turn this off. Just turn it off. You can't have that. That's not for you. Or you're not good enough for that. Or this is just going to keep happening again and again if you do that, okay, you had all of that swimming through you, and you looked at all your tools to deal with it, and the easiest one was just to turn that burner off. If you can't cook anything great with it, just turn it off. But that was a past you. There's a present you right now, right here, listening. And that present you might be whispering at you. Come on, come on, listen. Something she's saying is making sense. Come on, come on, come on. That present you is trying to get you to acknowledge that you have tools now. You have new resources that you didn't have. You have a boatload of experiences that you didn't have before. More wisdom you could say, or just more experiences to compare to. So when you shut down, it wasn't the you you know right now. It was a past you doing the best you could. And when you say to yourself, who am I now? You'd say, well, I'm me. I'm present me. I'm whatever that is. Right? So you're recognizing that present you may not make the same decision that past you made. They may not. In fact, do you want them to? Do you want to keep making the same decision that past you made, you might say, gosh, I haven't thought about it that way. I guess I don't. Good. Because if you keep making the same decisions day after day, week after week, month after month, and you're getting the same outcome, you know where that leads. You know where that leads means that that thing you want to manifest and create is never going to be on the table. You have to make a new decision. You have to make new decisions. And Then from that comes new behaviors, new expectations. So this is when your heart gets all fluttery and you think, oh gosh, this is going to make me nervous. What does that mean? Oh my gosh, what does it mean? So here's the next thing that you can do. When you're awakening your shutdown parts. Go in your flow. Ask it to help you move into flow state. Flow dream and start feeling emotional reconditioning or pre action. Those are both two ways of saying, create the feeling that this new area, this old area that's becoming new again, that you're moving into, it's going to work for me this time. It's going to work very well. And I will find whatever tools I need to solve this issue. Not only do I awaken to it and recognize, hey, this part of me has been totally shut down, but now that it's waking up, I'm waking it up gently in flow. So if you don't know what flow dreaming is, it's a process of. It's an energetic emotional process. It's similar to meditation, but different in that your emotional self is communicating with. What would you call it? Well, everybody calls it something else. Source energy, flow energy, quantum energy, the energy of communication that stretches between all things. You're creating a very powerful change within you. Think of it like, you know how they say in meditation, it changes your neural pathways, changes the actual physical structure of your brain. Think of flow dreaming as the emotional counterpart to that. Changing the emotional substance not just of your brain, but of all of you, of your nature, of the very being that you are, of the soul. Your soul being a collection of information about who you are, where you've been, what you've done, every choice you've made. So what happens if you start putting in new feelings like I'm waking up there again, I can have that now. I am allowed to do that will be successful in this. I don't repeat a past pattern. I don't need to. I've outgrown that past pattern. There's no more I need to do. I just need to flow and be. And I know that if there is anything that I need to work through, it'll come up. I totally trust that. And I know when it comes up, I will be there, able to work through it this time. I will. I am ready now because I am doing this with consciousness, with choice. I'm being proactive. I'm not just letting it happen in the midst and not know what's going on. I'm actually doing this proactively now, inside myself, which means that I'm guiding it. I have a vision. I have understanding. I have clarity. So I'm bringing myself into flow, and I'm making it easy on myself. Easy. Hey, whatever. My next step is to wake this up. Put it in front of me, please. I'm ready. I'm ready. Do you feel the energy even behind those words? So empowering when you say, I'm ready for this, I'm ready to wake that up. Wow. That's bold. It's gorgeous. It's a delicious feeling. I'm hoping that I'm communicating that to you even as you listen. That's what waking up, the shutdown part feels like. It's like breathing again after holding your breath for so long. It just feels right and natural because it is. Because growth is natural. Change is part of growth. That is your natural state of being. Being frozen, stuck, shut down. That's not your natural state of being. That's more like death. That's stagnation. That's where water turns brackish and filthy. You must flow. You must change. You must wake up. You must breathe. The other thing that you can do as you're committing to waking up these shutdown parts or opening them up, is that you recognize that the current way that you've been handling it no longer serves you. You say, okay, the reason I'm opening this up again is because what I'm doing with it now, the way I'm containing it, it's not serving me anymore. Now, what I mean by this is that when you originally shut down, it's probably because something hurt, right? It hurt. So you had to contain that hurt and shut it down. When you open it up, what you're saying is, okay, I had shut that down because it kind of protected me. It protected me from a bad relationship. It protected me from a bad investment or making the bad money decisions. So I just stopped spending. It protected me from, you know, any. Any one of things you can think of it from, you know, leaving, losing a job, or, you know, being. Being risky. Right. There's an element of protection, though, that was probably going on. And then you have to say, yeah, but it was at the expense of. What was it at the expense of? Think to yourself. It was at the expense of being truly loved and having an intimate relationship. It was at the expense of being able to speak my truth in my partnership. I shut down. I just said no, and I protected it because it contained it. Yes, I still have a partnership or a marriage, but the expense of it was what I had to give up. The expense of shutting down that expectation. Need in my life. Intimacy with my partner. Love between us. Attraction. Sex. How about. God, there's so much. What did you lose? Freedom, perhaps. When you shut down that dream of who you could be and you got safe, protected, what'd you give up? Freedom. Yeah. Growth. Reaching your potential. The next step, going big. You gave that up. So you see, when you start recognizing what you gave up, you become more committed to opening up that part of you again. You say, okay, I contained it, but it's not working for me anymore. The reason I know it's not working anymore is because it had a price. That price was love, freedom, attachment, commitment, intimacy, whatever. Okay, so those are the things that I'm going through in my mind as I wake up. Parts of me that I recognize I've shut down or kind of been protecting. I hope that helps you remember. Here's a little quick, quick summary. Recognize that what you did was in the past as a past. You doing the best you could with your past set of tools. The present you has a whole new set of tools, tons more experience, and probably a very different perspective and ability to deal. Have faith in the present you, not the past. You. Second, use your flow. Ask it to help you awaken this part of yourself. Ask that it be made easy, clear, smooth. The right thing comes to you, followed by the next right thing by the next. Don't go into this with an expectation, oh, it's gonna hurt. It's gonna be so painful. It's gonna be. No, doesn't have to be. Why would you think that? Why would you expect that if you. If you know, if you are. That tells me clearly why you've been keeping it protected and shut down. You're afraid if you open up, it's gonna hurt. So bring all your resources, your new tools, bring your flow. And three, be very clear that the current way you're dealing with the shutdown part is just doesn't work for you anymore. And once you recognize that, you realize, God, I can't stay there. I can't. It's making this be on hold and that be on hold and that be on hold, and all this stuff in my life on hold, not growing, just sitting there still. So with those three ideas swirling around in your mind, you can see how you can start to create movement again in a way that feels safe, comfortable. Okay, so hope that gives you something to think about. It's another one of these deeper kind of podcasts, sort of like the emotional Endpoints one I did just a few weeks ago, sort of the same vein as that, where we really get in and kind of work through ourselves. By the way, this is the kind of stuff that I do with my students every couple weeks in ME school. We go through processes like this, constantly recognizing that the clearer, the cleaner, the brighter, the more transparent, the. The more fueled with our true selves. We are the better manifestors, we are the better communicators, we are the better empaths and intuitives. We are everything. You know, it's a real phoenix in the fire kind of, whew, transformation. But that's what you need when you want to go big, when you're committing to living in a very different way. So there you go. Let's see before we get to our flow dream, which we're going to do, which. Can you guess the topic? Opening up a shutdown. Opening up one of your shutdown parts. Yes. We're going to do a flood room for that. Let's see who we've got on calls. Debbie, you're calling from. Is that Massachusetts? Debbie, hi. You're on air. How are you? Thank you. You're welcome. I'm good, I'm good. Tell me what's on your mind.
Oh, I'm just stuck on career and romance, and I was wondering, is there anything that works to get me a little unstuck?
Well, tell me what you're. How do you feel? Stuck. Is that like a shutdown part, or are you active and in it, but you just keep cycling through the same issue over and over?
A little of both.
Okay. Are you in a partnership right now?
Yes. It's long distance.
Mm. And what would you describe as the main problem?
Like, following through, to pursue, to make a commitment, like, to get married.
Mm. Okay. That's common, by the way. I talk with a lot of people about that. Really? Yeah. How do you move a relationship from one stage into the next? Because after a while, you're just treading water, right? That's how you feel. Treading water with you. How long do I tread water for?
Exactly.
Yeah. All right. So what I'm doing right now, Debbie, is I'm just getting into you, getting into your flow. It's like reading your entire energy state, what's going on in your life, around you, within you, in your heart, mind, emotional field, looking at your relationship, the sense of both hope and despair in you. Hope, Hope. Hope. Despair. Frustration. Despair. Frustration. I can see you sort of zigzagging up and down, up and down between these two. You Say, and he's a man. Correct. Okay. Sometimes I ask his name, but right now, I'm not even looking at him. I'm just looking at you. Your feeling is that he's a good man, but he always keeps. It's like he keeps giving you excuses. It's my job. It's my. This. It's not. I have to take care of this first. It's like there's. You recognize there's been a perpetual set of delays. He always feels like he's preparing. If he can only do this or that or get this done or get that done. Does this sound like him? Yeah. And it's making me wonder when you two. Or if you two moved into the next step. Moving together, for instance, or living together, getting married. Is this a pattern where he will always feel like I'm not quite ready? I've got to get more prepared. I've got to get through this and that and that.
Yes, Hello.
Sorry, I think our. We dropped for a moment there. The situation. I believe it will keep being this way because there's no movement. It's in a stuck pattern. It's not exactly shut down. It's just stuck in a spin cycle. So what I'd like to see you do with him is acknowledge the fact that you keep being put off. Acknowledge that all of these things that he says he has to do first or take care of first are making you feel very unimportant. Because if you were important, he would be doing you first and fixing all of these things around the two of you. Instead, you're having to wait while he addresses these other things, which de facto is making them more important and devaluing you. And that causes great fear. Hey, am I not important? Not important. And then when he says, oh, no, you are. You're so important to me. You say, then. Then make me the next thing you do. I am. I am on your list. Nothing can go ahead of me. If something goes ahead of me, I am no longer on your list. I am removing myself from your list.
I see.
Okay. So in a way, it's forcing his hand, but it's absolutely truthful because he will destroy the relationship. He'll destroy his love with you or your love for him if he keeps doing this. So you're doing him a favor with this kind of honesty. You're asking him, make a choice, you know, Step up. That's what I feel you doing. What do you think? I know. You're like, oh, my God.
No, it sounds like it makes sense.
Yeah, it will it's going to move things. It's going to shift his perspective. I don't think he has awareness that he's really doing this. Yeah, it's just more like it's what he does. He's in a pattern of it. He hasn't thought about it, thought it through. So bring it to his attention.
I see.
Okay.
Okay. Thank you so much.
You're welcome, Debbie.
Thank you. You're great.
Thank you. Bye. Bye.
Bye.
So normally I would ask, you know, his first name, but I didn't her case because I felt like she was really protective of it. So just kind of looked in and around him. Anyway. Basically what I was getting was his energy as it came into her field, sort of like the dance they were doing, going strictly through her. Like she is the dance partner in her flow, in her mind, in her energy, watching how he danced with her, meaning how he's interacting with her in life. So anyway, what you just saw there is an example of how I use flow dreaming and flow energy to read information. And then my manifesting is that I make adjustments to that information when I see it. So another thing Debbie could do is move into her flow pre create this conversation with him. You know, create a template for it, establish an energy drawing of what she's going to say, how it's going to come across her feelings at the end of it. And remember, her feelings won't be like, oh, and it won't resolve. No, in flow, her feelings are going to be. And he gets it and he hears it and I feel it, and I'm understood, and we're able to make a good decision. Ah, I feel relief. Ah, I feel wonderful. Ah, I feel like I'm not dancing around this on hold all the time anymore. Ah, all those feelings are out of me. Okay. She builds that in her. She builds that in her flow. She's actually building a living energy wall of that feeling now. And it's a good wall. It's a wall of strength, a wall of moving forward. Okay, quick break. When we get back, I'm gonna do some flow dreaming with you. We may have time, too, for one more call if you're up for it. 87062. That is the live call in number only. Manifest your life with Summer Mixtravic and Flow Dreaming. Welcome back to Flow Dreaming. Let's go ahead and get into our flow and if there's time left over, we'll get to some more calls. So to Flow Dream, you want to close your eyes and relax. You're letting go. You're going to daydream. It's not meditation. You don't clear your mind. You allow your mind to unfold for you as it would with a daydream. There may be pictures, words, people traveling through, but most importantly, you have emotion. It's your emotional state. And you're directing your emotions, you're directing them and your daydream into the sensation of flow itself, which is like a perfect, absolute and utter alignment with your own future. The future you're flowing into. The future that's made up of all kinds of other people's energies as well source energy. So to get real clear on what flow is in Flow Dreaming, just sign up for my newsletter@flowdreaming.com and I will send you a couple of free options audios where I talk you through it. In the meantime, let's go. Now. Even if you don't know what you're doing yet, it's okay. All right. My eyes are closed and I'm relaxing my shoulders, relaxing my abdomen, letting my stomach out. My neck feels loose between my eyes. All the tension has disappeared. Released, relaxed. I'm letting myself go into a daydream. Beautiful daydream. Daydream Where I'm walking, walking in a place that's not quite like here. There's green grass like a meadow, stretching out in all directions as if to the horizon. The grass is sweet and fragrant. There's flowers, there's butterflies. Perhaps I see other landscapes, landscape in the distance, hills or mountains. And I find that I myself am on a winding path, a sweet old fashioned country dirt path through these fields, through this meadow. And like any long laid path, I don't ask where it's going. I know it has purpose. It's been walked Before I can trust this path, I can trust that it will lead me where I'm intending to go, that it holds my best interests in its heart, that it will take me to the next thing I need. I feel safe here. I feel protected here. I know that all the landscape I can see and sense and feel around me, it's not real. It's made of energy. It's like it's putting on a costume for me of a landscape that feels comfortable, that feels safe. And this path, this is my flow dressed up as a path. But really, it's me. It's my future unfolding in front of me. Each step I take is a moment in time that I'm passing through. It's so comforting to feel that there's a direction. Where I'm going is clear. It's obvious. It's apparent. I don't think about it. I don't. I don't fear it. It's right and perfect and good. And I'm strolling, strutting, gliding down this path, feeling like I love myself. I love all of me. I'm loving the things I've created in my life. And yes, I recognize maybe not every single thing. Maybe some things are imperfect, but on balance, God, I'm glad to be me. I like what I've created and developed in myself. So far, I've done a pretty good job. Yet there are parts of me that I could do more with. I could do more with them. It's like looking around inside myself and realizing, oh, there's a few areas I've neglected. I've been so focused on this and that, and I didn't realize that that part of me over there was gathering dust, a layer of dust. Inactivity, avoidance. I let that shut down when it got too hot. Yet now it's stone cold. It's time to pick it up again, to warm it, to see what's changed between then and now. I am a different person. So as I look toward this part of myself that's been shut down, it's like. It's like literally looking at something in the corner of my eye, something right over there in the field, and picking it up with my hands like a warm stone, holding it and saying, this part of me shut down. I'm going to gradually warm it in my hands as I walk. I'm going to allow the energy of this in my life to awaken again. This is a characteristic in myself, perhaps in me. Maybe I allow myself to be attractive or beautiful again. Maybe I allow myself to feel yes, I'm worth loving. Of course someone would fall in love with me. Maybe the stone would warming is me saying, I don't need to play safe in my job anymore. I can push forward. I can wake up to my dream again. I'm allowing myself to do this. What is it that's waking up in me? What is it that I'm coaxing back into my world knowing? Of course, of course. It's always been in my world. I never got rid of it. I never left it. It just went dormant. I covered it up. I hid it. Thought if I just don't look at that thing under that pile over there, it won't really be there. And yet it was. And because of that, it continued to affect me and shape me and direct all the decisions and thoughts that I've been making. Oh, my goodness. Time now to reclaim that. It's my job. It's my duty to reclaim it. It's how I honor myself to reclaim it. So I do. I hold this right to my chest, feeling it warm, feeling myself re engage. Okay, I say I'm re engaging. I'm re engaging at a pace that feels just right. And that's when I notice in my flow, along this path, I've still been steadily walking. Not flying, not running, not stumbling, not still. I've just been moving at a pace that was so natural, I forgot I was even doing it. It was so part of me. And that's how this unfolds in my life. So natural, so perfect, so right. As if I led myself to it, to the very best possible path for healing this or exploring this or growing this, Whatever needs to be done, I am in the process of knowing it. And that's the feeling I linger in even now as I return from my flow and open my eyes at 3, 2, 1. So there you are. That was an example of a flow dream. If it lulled you to sleep, if you were just listening and not feeling, then you weren't quite there with how. I'd like to see you develop the technique in yourself. If you felt intensely emotionally engaged, you felt strength, then you were in flow. If you felt that direction and alignment, that was flow. Okay, I will see all of you again next week for the next episode of Flow Dreaming.
